T stands for coffee and vegies

Hi Everyone!

Today is catch up day. I had to drive M. Mr. to Salem, OR. for his monthly doc. appt. Over the last few months he has been doing it via video chat. The doctors are now opening up more for in person appt. Ya know because covid is so under control. "snark" Nothing we can do about it though.  We went in early to do some grocery shopping. There is a store here called Winco that is across a small road from Costco. We have not been to Winco since Jan. Now I have told you all about how we still have food shortages here in my town of Florence. However, outside of Florence there are no shortages anyway not at Winco or Costco.  At both stores not many people and masks are mandatory. Winco has a person outside handing out masks if you refuse you don't get in. I love that.  Soooo I was in shopping heaven I got everything, I mean everything. Yeast, (that you can't get here) vinegar (that you can't get here) and so many other items. I also got canning jars at a much much much cheaper price than here. I am so happy. I never thought in my lifetime I would be happy to actually get groceries.
As for my garden, here is my haul for this morning.
2 kinds of lettuce, there are about 50 string beans in that bowl
2 kinds of squash and more cucks
I love gardening!
Here is the jam I made with the blackberries we picked from our yard.

And these are the sweet pickles so far.
With all of this I sat back to enjoy a cup of coffee. This is the first coffee I have had in about 3 years. It was very good!!!!
Joining the lovely people over at Elizabeth and Bluebeard for T Tuesday.

Have a great day everyone!

so glad you were able to finally get things you had been wanting from the stores! I am quite lucky to have many stores in my area- it's just a pain to have to go from one to another when things aren't all in stock any longer. Your canned foods look so good!! I wish I enjoyed it but I just don't- only made three jars of pickles at one time- and that was only once- last year:):) Keep well, and happy T day!

Happy T-Day! (I'm leaving a generic comment for everyone this week, because I'm very sore after each day's storm clean up efforts. Tropical Storm Isaias clobbered Connecticut US August 4, 2020.)

WOW look at all your pickles and veggies ~ Awesome job! Yes I think we all took shopping for groceries for granted in the past. Our stores are finally enforcing the mask rule too. ~ Oh and jam too YUM ~

I'm sorry to hear that you still have local shortages. We rely on Costco for more unusual items too. You've done great with your vegetable garden and canning. That sure helps.

Happy T-day and have a lovely week! Hugs, Eileen

So glad you were able to find the items you were looking for. Some items still missing from my store shelves but it is getting better. Paper towels were almost gone, but I got a package. It felt like Christmas. Mmm, your jam looks sooo good and a good haul from your garden. After the running around and canning you deserve to put your feet up and have a cup of coffee. Happy T Day

Hello Nicole, great to read that you were able to get some decent shopping done. It doesn't sound good that you've still been having food shortages in your town. I'd imagine it did feel like shopping heaven lol :D)
You've been so productive making the jam and preserves, they look so nice too.
I couldn't begin to imagine being without coffee for 3 years! That is a shortage!!
Good wishes and cheerio for now xx

Oh your canning looks good. And good for you to get enough veggies. My garden has failed miserably in the heat and low rainfall we've had. Hope it was a happy T day! Hugs-Erika

People who are reluctant to shop might be buying more of some products than they need right away. Like white beans — seemingly hard to find right now in some places. It’s entirely erratic, though. Good that you found yeast: that really did run out when people began baking at home in lockdown. They couldn’t get the jars and little packets for home-use packaging, and couldn’t produce it fast enough.

I know what you mean about being in shopping heaven! But I haven't found a store that has everything I want. Still shortages here! My goodness, I can't even find the 91% Isopropyl alcohol here for crafting! The pharmacist says 71% is all they can get during this pandemic. I just wanted it for crafting! eek! Your garden must be wonderful. All your food you will have this year will be great! Love the jam the best! Thanks for sharing. Happy belated T Day!

Ooooohhh, coffee! Glad you can enjoy that again. :) And your garden is a treasure trove. So many good things! Yum! Glad there are at least some shop owners, who do their duty to keep people safe from this C thing, by asking to wear masks etc. Stay safe, my friend!

Glad you were able to get your groceries Nicole. I finally braved the chemist yesterday, first shop I've entered in six months. The volunteers who were collecting my prescription have disbanded. Today I'm going to the post office. Nice to be getting out again, might treat myself to some chocolate 😉
Your produce looks wonderful, we've had lots of different salad leaves, and a cucumber. Still waiting on the tomatoes, lots of green ones so far.
Keep safe and well,
Alison xx

You're not the only one who doesn't drink coffee, girl. Same situation in here. And lovin' it! 💪🏻
