Eye Docter and veggies.

Hi Everyone!

Today I had to drive to Eugene for my eye exam. The drive in, ( about 90 miles one way) was not bad. The road into town is a 2 lane hwy that is curvy and locals as well as tourist just can't get it through their heads that 35 and 40mph IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! Sooooooo, the drive in was not bad. The doctors apt was horrible. I got my test right away and there has been improvement with the blind spot of my right eye.  However, I waited over an hour for the doctor to examine my yes. I don't know what was going on but geeeessss... I got there at 10:00 and didn't get out of there until 12:30 and all but 15 minutes was waiting. uuuhhhgggg..... The drive home was horrible. Tourist and people from Eugene heading to the coast. Ya know, like there is not epidemic in the US and everybody can just go on vacation. OK, I am getting upset and I need to calm down. Ohhh I know beer thirty. LOL Plus I want to show you what I got out of my garden. Now being home and playing in my little garden makes me happy.

Isn't this a beauty? I took this shot a few days ago.

and now.....my haul for today. I have a small container garden and I am happy with this.
I will be canning cucks this weekend.

Since I have never canned before,
I thought I would try it first with something easy.
I made Strawberry Jan.
I don't know what took me so long to grow a garden and cann
My great grandam, my grandma and my mom all had gardens and canned.
Well they would be proud of me now for finally doing this.
Tomorrow morning I will bake some bread, whip some butter,
and have a nice home made snack with my jam.

Hope you are enjoying your day.

Hi Nicole, glad to hear your sight is better. 👏🏻 Waiting can be a pain, but... Some people, believe it or not, wait even longer. 2-3 times that 2 hours you waited. So, it's not all that bad. 🤷‍♂️ Lovely garden. I'm enjoying watermelon these days, btw! 💚💗💚💗 And that jam... Oh girl, wouldn't mind trying that! 😏

Your veggies look great. Why do eye doctors always let you wait so long? Same here! Have a good weekend. Valerie

Don't get me started on waiting for an eye doctor. Imagine that the appointment you were supposed to have got delayed while the doc did emergency surgery on someone else. Four hours before I got to just see the guy. Believe me, I feel your pain.

Your veggie garden looks wonderful and that jam looks even better. I haven't canned in years. It was such an exacting project and I was afraid I'd not do it right. I canned for about four years in a row, then gave it up, I'm really impressed with yours and I am glad you are so enthusiastic about the entire process. I wish you luck, my friend.

Hi Nicole! :) Okay, so I see your harvest!!! How nice! Congratulations on canning!!! Isn't it fun and rewarding? I think the first thing I canned was strawberry jam too! You will get addicted, trust me lol...I want to build a huge pantry one day and have a few month's worth of canned food down there! I'm so happy that your eye is improving! But I hear you on the waiting times...it's frustrating, feels like you waste an entire day waiting and driving.

ack... eye tests. I have monster floaters that bump into each other a while back causing flashes of light, according to the retinal specialist. Now they float around making a mess. great harvest yield!
