Hi Everyone!
I have been up since 3AM. Yes, prednisone wide awake. Actually it was OK. We had to drive to Springfield, OR. today to see the Neuro Ophthalmologist. The appt. was excellent, very thorough but not what I really wanted to hear. Since I have been on the pred for 4 days with no change he wants me off of it. Thank the gods. 80mg is just wayyyy to much. I have to have some blood work done and a new MRI that is specialized for ocular. He is still not ruling out inflammation but he is also looking for a tumor that he can't see with my brain MRI. So it is still the waiting. I have also lost the ability to see color in my right eye. Siggghhhhh.
OK. Not much art this week. For Paint Party Friday I have a quick sketch and a face.
For Thursday's Art Date with Rain. The prompt is snow creatures.
These are my two favorite. I have these as framed posters in my art room.

Hi Nicole :) I'm so sorry about losing colour vision in your eye...I'm glad your off the prednisone, if it's not helping. Your sketches are lovely, the portrait is beautiful and I love your snow creatures!
ReplyDeleteLove your 'snow creatures'. Beautiful art and am so sorry for the news on the eye, fingers crossed it is not a tumour.
ReplyDeleteI hope the new specialist can make a diagnosis and resolve the issues! Those snow creatures would give me the permanent willies!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the lost of colour vision. Really hope the MRI will find the problem so it can be fixed. Sending hugs. Anesha
ReplyDeleteI keep my fingers crossed for you and hope that something comes out of it and that it could get much better. Love hug and don't give up !!!

ReplyDeleteWow, not the best news, but at least it's news. I hope you get the answers you are looking for in the new MRI. Sorry about the fact you can no longer see color in your eye.
ReplyDeleteYour sketches are still quite striking and beautiful, and those snow creatures are chilling. Right now it is sleeting here, so I hope to be able to stay on the internet.
Aaah, Prednisone. It can be helpful and needed for a bit at times, but also should be monitored carefully. Sorry to hear about your vision. Hope things turn out OK and you can regain better sight. Be well, and happy PPF!

My goodness you are going through so much ... I am so sorry and I can't imagine anything more scary than losing one's eyesight. I agree you are on a very high dose of prednisone ... watch your blood sugar for it is not unusual that it will spike on prednisone. I pray for you that you recover completely and regain your sight and color. I don't know now you manage to come up with a post under these circumstances, but you did and a good one at that. I will keep you in my thoughts, Nicole ...

ReplyDeleteNicole,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for the eye sight difficulties you're dealing with. After DH big scare a few years back with the detached retina, we know the seriousness of such things personally. We will keep you in our prayers and hope this new treatment restores your sight.
Your sketches are wonderful. You do people quite well and the desert landscape is very nice, too. Your snow creatures look scary. I don't want to run into these creatures! Thanks for visiting and have a good week, my dear! xx
Love your sketch and face Nicole. Your work is always so detailed and considering what you're going through visually, all the more cudos to you xx
ReplyDeleteI do like your sketches, and your snow creatures :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
