PPF My Days Are OFF

Hi Everyone!

Well, my days are off. All day today I thought it was Thursday, ya know the day we on the west coast link up to PPF.  Haaa it is Friday!  It was a busy week with my new bathroom floor put in on Monday, Art Committee meeting on Tuesday, taught a beading class on Wednesday and then Thursday slow cooked ribs for Thanksgiving dinner. Not to mention the million other things I do. LOL. I will post photos of my finished bathroom next week.

I hope all of you had a great week and thanks to Eve and Kristin for hosting Paint Party Friday.
I have been painting a black and white series. It is quite fun! Here are two pieces I finished this week.
Hope you enjoy them.

The background has great texture and the black and white blended very well. I just like how this turned out.
20x16" acrylic

This started out so differently. The background became this wonderful cracked texture and as I started to paint  all I thought of was the people in California and the fires. This is my tribute to those who have lost so much and so many.

It's quite evident that you are enjoying working on this series Nicole, love the subject matter in the first. The movement in the second is amazing making it look very tactile. A very sad time for those that have lost so much. Thinking of them all
Happy PPF Tracey
P.S I've had one of those weeks too.. glad it's now the weekend x

Hi Nicole... what an incredibly active week you've had but oh so productive!
Your first acrylic is wonderful, the subtle blendings create a cool dimensional aspect to the painting.
That's a beautiful tribute in your second acrylic... I can feel your emotion in it.
All the best and have a great weekend. Happy PPF :D)

Beautiful art. My days were off this week, too, and I turned up a day late for an appointment because of it - now I need to wait months for the next one! Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie

I like both of these!
We have very short days right now (less than seven hours daylight) I go early to bed, in the morning I sit in front of bright light...
You're always welcome here! Late spring or summer is best time (not so dark and cold). Let me know when you come!

Love both paintings but in different ways. And I love black and white too, as you have seen in my work.
