PAINT PARTY FRIDAY JAN 12

Hi Everyone!!

I am floored at how fast this week went by, but excited to show you what I accomplished this week. Most of you know I am creating something everyday and I am happy to say that this new found energy of creating has me ahead of the game.  I am getting two sometimes three pieces done in a day. YAY.....  A huge thank you to Eva and Kristen for hosting Paint Party Friday and to all of the artists who show their art.

Daily drawings are teaching me a wealth of art techniques.

I am very much into drawing ethnic faces.
I am learning so much by doing the light and dark.

24x18" acrylic abstract painting with two molded leather faces. This is so pretty in real life.

I have new shinny spray paints and they are AMAZING.

This is an 24x18" flat board canvas.
Acrylics and all done with a knife.

I drew this on some paper I have had for a very long time. I graphite didn't take too well due to the tooth of the paper. I will use this paper for some other type of art.  Oh and the paper is a light brown color. Hey I was just playing. LOL

This is a 12x12 frame with 3-D protruding leather face. These are really fun to make. I cut and make my own frames, prep the leather, mold the face and then dry paint it with acrylics.

I drew this boy this morning. In the photo I used for the face the boy had sky blue eyes. I just left them light.

I hope you enjoyed my art
and in some way I have inspired you.
Leave me a comment I love hearing from you.

You're so prolific Nicole, all the different ways you produce art is fascinating. I admire your sketches and the shadowing you've done is excellent. The knife work would've been fun and I like your combo of colours.
Happy PPF :D)

My goodness you are not only prolific, you are branching out in all directions. I love the molded faces ... seems like it would be hard to do, but you certainly have accomplished it. I dream of having your creative energy. Maybe someday ...

two to three pieces a day! Wow, you really ARE on a roll! But it's true, the more you create the more you want to create and the easier it gets. Your faces are just getting better and better, you're the perfect example of how practice makes perfect.

Your art is absolutely very enjoyable and consider me inspired, to draw another face. But I think I will stick with non-ethnic until I have gotten a bit better. Your molded leather faces sound really interesting.

Oh boy...I feel baaad. I wanted to start drawing every day this year but....a first couple of days went ok but then I had to do this or that and I lost the rhythm, self-discipline. But I do draw, paint but not as I planned, snif.
Good for you to not give up.
Have a great day!
ps. I can see your faces are getting more character...

Your portraits are so great. You should join the Julia Kay Portrait Party on Flickr. It is a fun group founded six years ago with about 900 members and over 50,000 portraits posted. However I doubt you have time for it.

So proud of you, Nicole! You're doing great . :) I've aways been a huge fan of daily painting, but I can't stop at one, either. I've always said when I paint a lot, I paint a lot more. One painting always leads to the next, which leads to an endless amount more. I never get artist block this way. It's just go go go, nonstop. The pace does get tiring, tho..so be sure to rest up a lot in between, so you don't burn out. xo

Oh wow, you really have been busy! I try to do something every day too, even if it's just a quick drawing. It does not always work, but I agree, practice, practice, that's the way to learn. Your artwork is wonderful, great drawings, and your 3D pieces are fascinating!

The flat board acrylic I thought was a pillow - fantastic art. Yes, the light and dark face is excellent. I love all the art you share. . and your explanations are quite understandable. Thank you. Blessings, Janet
