Hi Everyone!
It has been a pretty good week in our household. Finally! It feels like some things are looking up. DH still has double vision and that is more than difficult, but on other health issues we are making progress. So with feeling better and less stress I have actually painted this week. It is no where near my best but right now it is what it is. Now, you may ask why snow??? Who the heck knows. I lived in big snow country most of my life and I will never go back to it. I dislike it A LOT! However, when I picked up brush and paint this is what came out.
I also started a pyro leather piece of one of my favorite subjects. Just getting it started on it.
Draw out your pattern on tooling leather.
Outline the pattern with a burning tool.
I go over the lines with a different tip to make them all the same depth and width.
The eye is lightly burned.
Pattern drawn and first burning done.
This is going to be a larger piece with more skulls.
Thanks to the wonderful ladies Eva and Kristen for hosting Paint Party Friday.

Love the winter painting ad the sugar skull, beautiful. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie
Beautiful snow piece, Nicole. And I always admire your work with leather. Did you know your link on PPF is not correct? It goes to Etsy.
Very nice leather work, it was a shock to see the wintry trees at this time of year!
Love your snow scene
Stunning snow scene...love it! I wonder if it wants to be printed into Christmas cards. Now would be the time to prep all that!! You could add a digital font on the front and wait for a deal a vista print or somewhere else. I'm not a fan of scullies but yours is gorgeous!! I sure hope hubby gets to the bottom of that double vision...that's way too long!

I love sugar skulls - I'll look forward to seeing this one as you add colour. The subconscious is a wonderful thing and it obviously had a reason why you painted a snow scene - it looks lovely and tranquil.
The winter Art is gorgeous.
Happy PPF ❤
I especially love your snowy piece, snow always feels magical and your piece feels filled with magic!
Winter. Really. All Ready. Sick, lol.
LOVE that skull!!!

Have a super great weekend...no snow.
Very nice pieces. Happy PPF
much love...
You must have some good memories of snow country because they certainly show through in this painting. Love your leather work ... I don't know if I have the courage to work with leather. I assume it takes a great deal of practice and a lot of wasted leather to get it right. Very nice post, Nicole ... hope your health issues resolve :)

It's good to hear that things are looking up healthwise. It's interesting to see how you work on leather, looking forward to seeing how it progresses!
Glad to know that things are getting better on the home front. Lovely snow painting, perhaps a way of connecting present and past. The sugar skull looks great.
