PAINT PARTY FRIDAY LEATHER TUT

Hi Everyone!

I know...... I have been absentee.  As some of you know my DH is going through more medical problems so please keep us in your prayers and healing light.  With that I have not been in the mind frame to create, until the other day.  Something in the universe switched and a good portion of my stress was lifted. I can see a bit of light at the end of this flippen tunnel and I know it is from all the positive love that has been sent out way.  Thank you.

It is nice to be sharing my art and post tonight with Paint Party Friday and the lovely Eva and Kristen. Be sure to click on to see some amazing art from other artists from around the world.

Sooooooo what have I been doing?  Leather!
I took a piece of tanned cow belly and drew a horse. I thought I need some color in my life and got out the wood burning tool and some ink pens.  I am not quite finished but it is coming along and I am liking it.
Here is how I created this.

Ink on Leather
21x12"

Begin with tooling leather and draw a a simple horse head with a #2 pencil.
Press firmly so the leather indents.

With a wood burning tool go over the lines of your drawing.

Have a bowl of warm water and a small sponge on hand along with your pens.
Where ever you start to pen in color be sure that the leather is moist. This will allow the color to penetrate the leather better.

You can add more drawing and burning as you go.

Let me know if you try this.
