Hi Everyone!
Pretty hectic here. Life sometimes just doesn't go the way you expect it to. The one great thing is that every day is a new beginning and we can carry on. I do have art this week. Yay.... First a big thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting Paint Party Friday.
I got some new colored pencils a few months ago and this is the first I have tried them. Found this face on google, drew it out, and colored in my own design in it. The pencils are a bit light.
Playing around with some abstract.
and using up some paint on my palate. You can't see it in this photo
but there are limbs showing through the leaves.
Going through some old art boxes and found this drawing I did back in the 1990s.
I used this on greeting cards I made.
Be sure to visit the other artists who participate.

It's always fun to experiment with new art materials and different artistic styles. I really like that eagle on the feather design that you found. Happy PPF, my friend!
ReplyDeletethere's always so much variety in your artwork, Nicole. I especially like the face - lovely mix of colours, and it's always fun to see artwork from years ago! Happy PPF. X
ReplyDeleteNice pieces. I never get very good colored pencil results-still looking for some bold colored ones. But I still like your face sketch and the other art too. :) Erika
ReplyDeleteLovely pieces Nicole! I know with watercolour pencils the colours darken when you brush them with water
ReplyDeletereally wonderful variety of art projects Nicole! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art!
ReplyDeleteThat face is stunning! <3
Enjoyed seeing all your art today, Nicole. I especially love the trees. The contrast of the light tree trunks against the dark background hills is very effective.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy seeing your art! I am impressed with your creativity. I love the drawing you did especially.
ReplyDeleteThe first is my favourite
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF
much love...
Great art today. I really love the feather.
ReplyDeletei do know what you mean about life not going as expected. I hope all is well with your, Nicole. I enjoyed seeing the variety of your art this week. I tried to enlarge the trees to see the limbs but my computer would not cooperate. I will use my imagination.

The variety of your work always impresses me. Each piece is just as lovely as the last. I was especially drawn to the abstract. That's what I love about art. We can all be attracted to different pieces or the same piece for a different reason. I hope that this week will go as you plan.
ReplyDeleteNew materials are always a thrill!
ReplyDeleteYou've had fun creating your art, it shows!
Exploring blogs - your face page, sketching fewer hit me - I need to sketch something every day, five minutes better than nothing. It feels so good. In real life first goes minutes and then hours and finally the whole day...but, I can do it, five minutes..let's see how next week goes.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week ahead!
What lovely pieces of art - and such a variety! I think my favorite might be the drawing you did and used on your greeting cards. Wonderful work. hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteIt's been great seeing your lovely art! I especially love those trees and can hear them swaying and hushing in the wind!
ReplyDeleteWonderful art. That feather is awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely to see all the different techniques and materials you have been using. The face is fun, coloured pencils can be quite difficult I think. My favourite might be the three trees with the scene in the background.
ReplyDeleteLove your Picasso-like face! And the bird in the drawing of the feather. I didn't see it at first, but then all of a sudden the eyes peeked out at me :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you continue to work with colored pencils. They do take some getting used to. I have seen some people using them to great effect. If nothing else, you can use them for coloring pages. Wonderful art, by the way.
ReplyDeletethey are all great in different ways. But this time I loved the first sketch of the triangular face. Never seen one like that before. Love it. :)
ReplyDeletePlaying around with abstract is my kind of guy. Love your selections for this PPF. Thank you for your visits to my blog each week.
