PAINT PARTY FRIDAY APRIL 18

Hi Everyone!
I am home for now. My mom is OK but NOT. She can still do little things but because of a life time of asthma that is now emphysema and the overall name COPD the big things she needs help with. I will be spending more time with her and leaving Mike at home. Thank you for all of the wonderful emails and well wishes. Making these memories with my mom are something that my brother's, who don't help me, will be sorry for later.
Ahhh watching Game of Thrones last week with mom was awesome!!! Seeing that wicked little king get poisoned. Yeahhhh finally. Hee hee heee
So on to art. Before I left for mom's I did a few paintings. Just playing around nothing too serious.
Sharing this with Paint Party Friday. Thanks to Eva and Kristen and to all of the truly wonderful artists who participate. Stop by to say hello or maybe you would like to join in.

Beautiful work, lucky daughter! Wishing you all the best with your mom, my mom has some dementia that we are dealing with one day at a time. She lives with my sister.

Oh you are a dear daughter....and your brothers will have deep regrets...my brother did .But he was only 30 which makes it understandable! It's also a gift you give yourself! Good for you!! Pretty artwork too!

You are a good daughter, Nicole, and you are right about the memories of these times spent with your Mom being important.

Your daughter's home is going to be full of beautiful color!

Sorry your mother isn't well, Nicole. It is difficult to see someone you love suffer. I'm glad you got to go be with her. Your peacock painting is gorgeous. I love the peacock colors in it.

My mom went through the same frustration of feeling alone when taking care of my grandma. Her brother didn't help at all, and her sisters basically had to be bribed to help out. You will not regret the time you are spending with your mother. The abstract face looks as if you may be releasing tears. I hope your art continues to help you deal with the heartbreak of seeing your mother in a weakened state. You are a great daughter. Best wishes to you!

I love that abstract face! I think it's wonderful the way the right side (well, our right, its left) looks almost awash in tears.

As an only child, I am not looking forward to caring for my mother by myself. I am sorry your brothers aren't helping you! They will regret it, but even so, that's a big burden to carry alone.

Wonderful face! All we can do in this life is what we truly feel is right. Live every day with no regrets, hoping the best from everyone. Not everyone is up to the challenge, and we are all human after all. You will have the memories the brothers miss out on. Happy PPF and wishing all good things your way!

Great artwork. Your daughter will love them. How strange. My brother's don't help me either, but it doesn't really bother me. I just let it ride and do what I have to do for my mom. She didn't raise me, but she is my mother and so I'm available for her. We are headed there this weekend with groceries and other and to spend the day with her on Easter. She won't leave her home and wants to do it on her own until she can't any longer. I have to respect her wishes but I'm on call should the time come. You are a good daughter and don't hold it against your brothers. Your time with your mom is well spent and God will reward you in the end. Happy Easter and have fun egg hunting. :) tee hee. Oh by the way, do you still have your same address? If not, send me your address by email. Thanks.

Glad you are helping your mom. It means so much to have loving help when you get weak and sick. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work -- love the energy and the colors.

Your face picture is very intriguing. I have never really liked working with acrylics because the colors are so strong but you have made them very nice and subtle. Love the people pic too. Happy PPF!

Mom and I were doing a happy dance! LOL! Big Hugs and Happy Easter ;o)

Beautiful abstracts Nicole. Your daughter is going to love having your originals grace the walls of her new home.
It's nice you are taking care of your mom and enjoying time together.Sorry that your brothers don't share in the effort, must be a little sad for your mom. At least your are there for her. My sister and I have our disagreements as well when it comes to doing things for our mom, makes it even more difficult than it already is but I do what I can.
Enjoy your time together and have a very Happy Easter.
Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog, I will try the cinnamon pills

Happy Easter,
Hugs Annabelle : )

Love that abstract face! So sorry your mom is not well. COPD is a terrible disease, and it must be hard for you to see her suffer. So glad you have the courage to care for her, and sorry to read that you have to do it alone. It always seems to be the daughters that take care of their elderly parents.....

marvelous art Nicole!
You and your mom are blessed to be together..she for your help and company ,and you for the gift it will give you...the gift of time with her..for time is a thing we can not get back once it is gone. I think i may have told you that i lived with my father for a while to help him. my family was supportive...my kids and husband would come to spend some time with me(luckily,it was only about 20 min away). I am glad i had that time with him. Care for yourself also my friend!

I love the movement in Eye of the Peacock... yet it is peaceful as well! Hope your art is a therapeutic outlet for you during this uncertain time...
