Hi Everyone!
Hope all of you had a nice weekend. I beaded and got a things ready for a showing I have today. Wish me luck that they buy it ALL!! :)
You know how I look for altered art mediums. I enjoy seeing the talent that people have using different materials. I do have issues with using food as a medium. I always think of those who don't have much and would benifit from the food that is used for art. That's just me. So today I am going to share with you the art of Vik Muniz. Now some of you may already know of this artist and what he has done for the Waste Pickers of Brazil.
If you have netflix put Wasteland in your que.
Vic goes back to his homeland to help the (garbage) pickers of Brazile. This documentory will make you laugh, cry, realize, and give thanks. The art will give you new insight. The poeple, however, will show you courage, strenght, and hope, and will stir your soul. If you want some realization how the art world can work for the good then watch Waste Land. You will not be dissapointed. I saw it when if first came out and have watched it many times since.
Here are a few of the pieces made from garbage
