As most of you know I spent 4 months caring for my brother Vince in hospice. While I was in CA., where he lived, my left foot stated to hurt on the outside. After awhile I noticed a bone starting to protrude by where my heal begins. I had a doctors apt yesterday and had him look at me foot. By the way this has been very painful. He set me up for some ex rays. No biggie I am use to pain and just thought it was part of the lupus stuff. This morning Mike and I were getting ready to take a walk when the doctor phoned. OMG!! I have a fractured foot!!!! I have to stay off of it completely, do crutches and a boot. For any or you who have used crutches you know they SUCK!!!!!! The boot feels pretty good though. Thanks to my good friend Charmaine I didn't have to buy or rent crutches or the boot. She loaned them to me.
So it is not all bad I can just sit here and bead even more!!!!

Nicole, this has got to be life's way of telling you that your pain threshold has become entirely tooo high! :( Having spent 3 months of my senior year in high school on crutches, I know how uncomfortable they can be...and mine were the kind that rest on the forearm not the armpit (I HATE those). Heal fast and well!
Oh Nicole. How awful. I'm so sorry. Man, when it rains it pours. Doesn't it. Geez. Well, you can bead to keep your mind of things. So sorry again, heal fast. Take care.
Look at the bright side, extra rest, and lots of new creations! :)
Get better fast.
Think fo it as a forced vacation.
Bead bead bead!! and... blog.
love and hugs.
Oh your poor foot! Nice to be forced to sit and bead, though huh?
That is some boot! I know things have been crazy but you really need to take it easy and heal!
Hugs
What a bummer! I hope it heals sooner than the doctor expects (I already read the 8 week post!)
Oh my goodness. I can't believe that you walked around like that for 4 months. I also deal with chronic pain with my fibro but that just makes me a wimp when new pain sneak in.
Holy smokes! I'm out of town for some days and you broke your foot!!!! I wish you all the best and a quick recovery!
I broke my foot at the age of 14 and yes, crutches suck. I had them 6 weeks and it took another 6 weeks until I could walk properly again, due to the fact that I didn't use the muscles for such a long time. But yes, think positive: much beading time! (I wasn't a beader back then.)
