Today I ask, do you watch art shows? Not youtube but art challenge, art history or just painting shows? Of course I do. In fact these shows have helped me go from this
to this
To what I'm creating now.
For me there is an improvement.
So what art the shows I have been watching. Of course number 1 is
Portrait artist of the year in the UK.
I enjoy the entire show. The format is excellent. I also have connected to all of the judges and the host.
There are 12 seasons and I watch it on Prime.
Along with this there is Portrait Artist of the year Australia.
I will say I have NOT connected to the judges of this show, but I watch for the art. 
I also watch this on Prime.
Now there is Portrait Artist of the year in Norway and Denmark not available in the US.
Other art shows I watch are
Tai-Shan Schierenberg, who is one of the judges on PAOTY UK has a show called Artist of the year masterclass.
On Prime
Kate Bryan another judge on PAOTY UK has several youtubes but TV type shows of the history of art. They are magnificent.
Here is just one.
There are other shows too like, Landscape Artist of the year.
On Prime 
Extraordinary Portraits
is an inspiring BBC TV series that pairs unsung heroes and everyday people who have overcome adversity or achieved remarkable things with some the UK's top artist to have their portraits painted, drawn or sculpted.
It is a fascinating art show. On Prime.
However, while I was sick in bed I found this gem. And yes it is on Prime.
There are only 2 seasons. The first season I found so much fun and enjoyed very much. For the second season, they changed the format and it is not as fun for me. But let me explain the show. Season one, amateur artists have one hour to create a full body (from life) portrait. Each one of the artist take a turn at being a model. Some of the artists have never created from life before. The model chooses the winner.
Diana Ali is the art mentor on hand that gives advice to the contestants. 
I'm featuring her next week on SITAR.
When Mr. M. saw a glimpse of the show, he says, "you could do that." ha ha ha, he has so much confidence in me. Then I thought. If I take a photo of the model off the TV, then I could create along with the show. That would be fun.
The second season is totally different. Diana Ali did not return as the on screen mentor. The show was revamped to remove the expert advisory role completely. More on that on SITAR.
Season 2 is actually named Drawers Off (subtitled The Big Naked Painting Challenge. The contestants no longer model and the people that do model are as stated, Naked. 
This was the first model season 2 episode 1. Yes, he is butt naked. The artists also now get 90 minutes to finish their creations.
Each contestant votes on the art and the highest number wins. The grand price is £1,000.

I think we watched a season of that show and another of landscape of the year, I think.
I occasionally watch art shows, both on TV and my computer, but regularly. I like to watch shows that teach me something new technique-wise, but I don't have anything regular I watch. You have some super faces today, and I really like the older woman you drew. Getting the life well lived lines are hard to do. Have a happy T day. hugs-Erika
I haven't seen any of these shows! I'll have to check out Prime to see if I can get them in Canada!
There are so many inspiring art programmes and clearly you are learning so much from them. I love the drawing of the older lady.
The only art show I watched a millennia ago was Bob Ross. I never painted in his style, but loved his calm voice and happy, little accidents. I'll have to check out some of your recommendations. Happy T Day

I did not even know there were art shows on TV. It looks like it has been very helpful to you- your work is lovely.
I haven't heard of any of these shows and I get Prime. I'm not a painter, except abstracts, but I think the shows would be fun to watch. It's obvious you have learned a great deal, but you have always been a great facial artist.
I watch Bob Ross on PBS, which is also available on Prime with Passport, I believe.

I don't have talent in art or crafts. I don't watch art shows....but I love to see paintings and sketches of those who have the talent on blogs!!! I don't watch much television, I enjoy nature shows, though.
YouTube is fantastic, because they have a lot more there than the television networks air today, which I really like, as I can choose what I want to watch and when I can watch it.
Nothing as refreshing as an ice cold beer, I think. These shows interest me and I have never heard of them!
Your sketches are beautiful, even the first one! Maybe you should go to the artist show?
Never watched an art show and didn't know they were a thing. I'm sure I would enjoy.

I´ve never heard of art shows (what a shame!... on me!) But then... Germany. Even via "Joyn" I get everything in German, so reckon unless I won´t be willing to pay... not a chance.
Oh, I remember the study days. Architecture. Once a week we got nude models. 60-90 seconds for one sketch, some I still have after all those years!

I must say, I had no idea that there are art shows on prime. Usually my art watching is YouTube. Or creative bug. I used to really love watching Bob Ross. I found out through genealogy that he is in fact a distant cousin.

I've never tasted that light beer of Chicago. I'll see if it's exported to Italy.

I am definitely going to have to check out Portrait Artist of the Year now because your progress is the ultimate testimonial. Mr. M. is so right, you could totally hold your own on those shows. Also, treating yourself to an icy Coors Light while watching artists paint butt-naked models sounds like the absolute perfect way to spend a Tuesday.
I've never heard of these shows but they do sound interesting.

I have never heard of these shows - when I watch TV it's mysteries, German movies, documentaries. I browse Youtube for art videos, but it's not very frequent. Your portraits are all amazing, I especially like the old woman. She reminds me of someone, but I don't know who. If I could draw like your portrait at the top I would be over the moon.
