The month is closing in. Seem like May is flying by. I have neglected lupus awareness month for a bit. One thing I want to write is, when I tell bits of my lupus story, it is NOT for anyone to feel sorry for me. I don't feel sorry for my life. I tell it so people will understand what the disease is.
So, did you know
that 63% of people have never heard of lupus?
In the mid 1990's I had finished my education as a Vet Tech, while working in a clinic. By the late 1990's I was having trouble remembering things I had done a million times. Like how to run the autoclave, or the Hematology Analyzer. It wasn't all at once. Little by little I lost the ability to do my job. Work that I loved.
Eventually, I had to quit working. It was devastating to me. As it is for everyone who has lupus and can no longer function in a work place.
On another subject. 6 states had primaries yesterday. Oregon was one of them.

NOOOO we do not go out for this. People are stupid, drunk, and oh did I mention stupid? LOL We used to go every year but really just too many people to deal with.
It's the 119 annual Rhody days.

Dear Nicole, I don't attend sporting events, parades or concerts. For me they are way too noisy and some people act crazy or violent!
Thank you so much for sharing about Lupus, I think it is good that we all learn about things we don't know. I know very little about this, so I appreciate you sharing it.
I feel your pain about the crowds. The Art Fair in our city attracts half a million visitors (according to the AI summary on google). Normally the city has arond 1.2. million people.
Great that you voted ... that is our right, even though there is someone in office that would like to deprive us of it! I don't know what Rhody Days is ... maybe you could explain for me. Anyway it looks like an excuse to have a good time (sometimes too good as you mentioned).
In some ways it is good that 63% of people have never heard of Lupus, because that would mean they have never known anyone who suffers from it. Your information is appreciated and I am so sorry you were unable to work as a Vet Tech. I know the animals would have loved you ... so can you have pets at home? Hope you continue to feel better and I also hope that you live to see a cure for Lupus. One can hope, right? Be well, my friend.

The only reason I've even heard of lupus or know anything about it is because of bloggers like you, Nicole, who blog about it and provide that information and knowledge!
Like many my knowledge of Lupus was practically non existent until I started to visit your blog, It is so good to provide and share information.

I plan to call my son in Oregon, and see what he thought of the results. Idaho sure didn't go my way but I'm not shocked.

Glad you voted, as did I here in KY. I don't go out to crowded events anymore. I always took my kids to things they were interested in, but I am enjoying this quiet stage of my life.

That's got to be tough to not be able do your job. I knew many things about Lupus, but not about the memory loss. That's a scary thing. I hope you got all your errands done so you can not fight the crowds this weekend.
Probably after once attending, I would skip Rhody days for evermore.
That is such a shame that you couldn't work anymore at the job your loved - that is life unfortunately. The carnival sounds fun but I wouldn't go out and be amongst that either.
I caught the news of the primaries in Georgia and Kentucky and it looks like Trump still has an iron grip on the party.

I actually pray NOT to develop Lupus. You have my Pisces empath support 150% and my prayers. I sure hope you had energy left after your shopping. Thank you for letting us know what happened. I didn't know much at all about lupus until my daughter was diagnosed.
I stopped going to carnivals after seeing them around here. They just don't seem safe.
That had to be terribly hard, leaving a joy you loved. I know what you mean about terrorist season! Even though I suppose we are too, I steer clear of town when I go to the lake. Too many people and not necessarily all nice!

I think I first heard of lupus when watching the medical TV show House.
You paid extra attention and efforts for these fish crawl wrinkles! lol
