OK, now that that's out of the way.
I have something very special to share today. I think it's special. Some of you know my good friend Luiz Gomes. He lives in Brazil and for many, many years has been sharing the beauty of his country and the art that has been and is being created there. More than several years ago, and honestly I can't remember the date, I drew a portrait of Luiz.
Today, is not about my portrait of Luiz, rather the art that he shares on his blog.
He's such a cool guy. 
Luiz is a professor, and he likes beaches, waterfalls, caves and making trails in the midst of nature. He did tell me he hasn't done that in awhile due to time constraints. You can find his love for nature in older posts on his blog. Luiz, also enjoys Cultural Centers, Museums, and Urban Art. He has be featuring the most exquisite art and museum exhibitions.

ReplyDeleteI've been by Luis' blog even I don't always leave a comment. But this is a fabulous post about him today. And drawing too. You did capture his likeness. And even if you don't think it has all the detail, it does show you've always had great drawing talent. I hope March starts off great for you. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWow the street art is awesome. My sister when she was still here used to paint murals on walls inside and outside. I can't even imagine how difficult it is. I did visit Luiz and he had a beautiful exhibit of pottery ...well worth the effort and I will keep him in mind for future visits.

The portrait of Luiz reminds me of a former student of mine who also was a professor. I definitely have to visit his blog, it sounds interesting and something I would like. Thank you for sharing Luiz so generously.

My offering only has a bit of art in it this time -- a couple photos of my friend Susie's amazing living room by her late husband, Dick. But if you click on the link in the post, you'll link to a more expansive one about Dick (can I enter them both?) and that would be my favorite!

ReplyDeleteYour ability to capture a person's likeness is wonderful. This is something I struggle with. I'm lucky just to sketch realistic features. This is all very much work in progress. I decided to go back through my illustrations, especially those of faces I'm re-doing. I hope to find the time to plug them into most posts here and there while I continue to mend my site.
