Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)
This is the place to show off your face art.
You
know, ANY type of face, nature, the face of a flower, photography,
drawings, paintings, AI. There just needs to be a face in your blog post, a
link back to my blog and please use the image below.
Thank you.
I'm much better now.
So I really haven't been able to draw.
I've had a few people comment and email me asking about what is lupus. Most of you know that May is lupus awareness month and I will be posting most days for that. For now, Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where antibodies attack healthy tissues and organs causing widespread inflammation and damage to the body. lupus can attack anything and everything from skin, joints, muscles, kidneys, heart, lungs, brain, thyroid, digestive system, eyes, and other organs.
This last few weeks lupus decided that it would attack my large intestines with OMG pain that moved into my kidney.
As I wrote, I'm much better.
I did sit down today and got this created.
This is the first photo taken
I do draw other things besides faces. 😁
My niece got married last week and her new husband took her to Italy for their honeymoon. I only have 2 photos so far. They are going to, something like, 10 cities.
This first place is their room. Can't remember where it is, but this is a palace that was turned into a B&B.
Here they are in Florence.
They will be visiting Naples where our family is from and visiting Punta Campanella. Obviously our last name.

It's a marine protected area. I know they will have so much fun there.
Now it's time for some AI.
It's feature time. I have to say, that I am very impressed with all of the artists who join in. Thank you.
The lovely Melody always posts the most beautiful trips that she takes.
Ya gotta love Debra from She who Seeks.
A reminder that FFO Portrait Challenge is April 24.
Create an image with one or all of these expressions
Happy, Sad, Tired, Surprised and or Anger.
Also, join in with SITAR. Anything art.

Sorry to read your Lupus is acting up, that must be a pain.
ReplyDeleteYour parrot is beautiful, well done and the photos of your niece and her husband are indeed lovely so good to see. The AI's a good too...love the portrait, the dark one.
Dear Nicole, I hope your niece and her husband have a lovely time in Italy. Great to hear they also visited Naples.
ReplyDeleteVery sorry to hear Lupus was/is at you again so fierce. And despite you created that beautiful bird-face!
ReplyDeleteOh, jetlag, yes. We switch to summer-time come Sunday... Yay to Italy. Hope you have a better time and Lupus gives you a break!
Wow, I love your fierce falcon face! That dangerous looking beak! That piercing eye, so well done! Oh no, keep it away from my poor little butter lamb ..... *chomp* ..... noooooooo!
ReplyDeleteThis week has been a bit busy, and I don't have an entry. At this point, I don't know that I will be in the special April challenge. I am taking some classes on dementia (for caregivers) and it is time consuming but helpful.
ReplyDeleteIs this the first time that you have featured the face of a bird? It’s the only one I remember. But I hoping that you do more! Tell that Lupus to behave, now.
ReplyDeleteFelicidades para a sua sobrinha.
ReplyDeleteO trabalho que apresenta depois da crise por que passou está muito bem conseguido.
Bom fim de semana.
Abraço de amizade.

I get intestinal hives when my hives flare and that pain is horrible. Worst than childbirth was, that's for sure- so I can sympathize with your lupus attack. I hope you have a much better weekend and week ahead. Your bird face is amazing. You are wonderful with drawing pencils and colored pencils Nicole. And wow, that's a B&B. It's amazing. Have a super weekend ahead. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteLove your art today. Congrats to your niece. Sorry you had a lupus attack.-Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDelete...Nicole, I alway wish you well with your health concerns. Be strong and well.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started teaching, one of my best friends had Lupus, so I'm sadly familiar with its harsh effects. You are in my prayers, my friend. I LOVE that colorful hawk! And those pictures of your niece are lovely, and I wish her and her husband continued blessings through out their marriage. Shalom!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the Lupus has been flaring.
ReplyDeleteGlad to read, though, that you are feeling better.
Love your drawing today. Fun idea to pick a different face.
Congrats to your niece. Looks like a wonderful trip—great memories are being made.
My Best Wishes to you, Nicole.
Glad you are on the mend. That is wonderful art, I love its eye. Congrats to your niece :-D I love her hair, seen a few people with this style over here too :-D
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you have Lupis. I also have an autoimmune disease called IBM (inclusion body myositis). Mine is a muscle wasting disease (ALS for muscles). Your drawing is amazing.
ReplyDeleteAn amazing “face” for FOF! Human ,animal, no matter. Your work is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery best wishes for health. And I enjoyed again your Linkparty. Thank you for sharing and for hosting.
ReplyDeleteGreetings by Heidrun ❤️
I wish you a good recovery soon, and no new flare-ups (if that’s possible). Your photos are nice but I think that’s a gondola in Venice.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling a bit better and hope it stays that way! That looks like some amazing honeymoon!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better. Your hawk is beautiful.and I do like Debra's little dog.
ReplyDeleteNicole ~ glad you are feeling better ~ Your avian portrait is fantastic ~ Wow! ~ Great honeymoon photos too ~ hugs, ^_^
ReplyDeleteOh, they look very happy and they are a very nice couple. Wish them all the best. Nice drawings again dear Nicole.
ReplyDeleteIt´s good to read that you are better...but I hope for your health that it will be much better.
All the best
Violetta
You have to know I would love, love, loooove the Hawk. Beautifully done, Nicole. And I still haven't managed to do a good AI painting. But, I am working on the challenge :) I hope you are feeling better. Lupus is an awful disease and I am so sorry you have to contend with it. I keep hoping that with all the knowledge and Ai, they will find cures for Lupus and all of the diseases that haunt mankind. I believe that day will come. Hope I will see you Sunday ... but my computer is having some serious issues, so I may be without it for awhile ... so you will know why if I disappear :( Happy Spring, my friend ...

I forgot to mention that my Granddaughter got married recently and they went to Italy on their honeymoon ... must be a great place to visit, right?

I'm glad you're feeling better, lupus sounds horrendous. I love the bird and its colours.
ReplyDeleteHi, Nicole! I didn't publish a new blog post this week, as we returned from Hawaii late Tuesday night. Nevertheless, I wanted to hear how you are doing. I am relieved to hear that you are feeling much better. Is Mr M OK? I consider your bird drawing a face, and it's beautiful. Congratulations to your niece and new husband. Love the "palace" bedroom and the pictures of Venice and the Rialto Bridge. Big hugs to you! 🌺❤️🌺
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteLovely drawing.
Happy honeymoon to your niece and her husband.
Good wishes for the coming weekend.
All the best Jan
It been a while since I did any hand drawings.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you were in pain. I love your bird so much! Thanks for the wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you had pain. I'm glad you're feeling better. I've been trying to get back around a little bit today. My daughter is still in the hospital with pneumonia in both lungs and sepsis. and I will have an update tomorrow on my blog with everything that has happened. Plus she's been in a lot of pain and she thought it was a Lupus flare but the test they did said she's not having a flare so I don't know what's causing all the body aches and muscle cramps.
