Hi Everyone!
I was going to write on the new horrors of the US government today, and thought, "People already know about the sinister regime in my country, and how each day it gets worse."
I'd rather write this.
I want to thank EVERYONE for the remarkable turn out for FFO Portrait Challenge and the astounding art that all of you created!
I had a few people say that they are not good enough to compete. Nonsense.
The challenges are NOT against each other or me personally. They are a way to enhance your own creativity. Each new piece of art brings knowledge to your artistic understanding and skill. As I have said before we are all on different levels in our art. So again, this is not a competition to see who is the best. We are all the best!
I also want to emphasize that the challenges are optional. I still want to see what you have to offer for FFO as long as there is one or more faces in you blog post you are welcome to FFO. It was set up that way from the beginning.
I can't tell you enough the immense pleasure it gives me to view your journey's, your everyday adventures, you joys, and even those days you just need to talk/write it out.
My hope is to be some kind of inspiration, to give as good advice as I get from all of you and to always be that person who can hold her head high.
OK, maybe too mushy there. LOL
All, I'm trying to say is that art brings the best out of us and I want that to flow through FFO, SITAR and yes challenges.
That's it for now.
Have the best day today.
Nicole

I am astonished by authoritarian characteristics Trump's administrations has given to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. I hope judges will continue to be free from political bias.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend, Nicole.
You ARE an inspiration, Nicole, in so many ways! You bring us all together on your blog as an artistic community through FFO, SITAR and your other posts! Thank YOU for all your efforts!
ReplyDelete...I took a picture yesterday of a bumper sticker, "make art, not war!"
ReplyDeleteI thought my portrait needed work and the positive comments did not reflect that! Great challenge Nicole.
ReplyDeleteThe horrors of the American Storm Troopers are really hard to believe, and hard to avoid thinking about.
ReplyDeleteBoa noite minha querida amiga Nicole. Você é uma excelente pessoa. Não tem nenhuma culpa do que o presidente americano faz. Ele tentou até prejudicar o Brasil. Tudo por causa de um ser asqueroso e que já está preso por isso. Grande abraço do seu amigo brasileiro.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy Friday Face Off, even if I don't take part in it every Friday.
ReplyDeleteWe do live in scary times.
I enjoyed seeing all of the art from the particpants I got to visit. You also allowed me to be inspired and even surprise myself. One person mentioned learning something from me - Ha, it was something I learned from you and you learned elsewhere. The flow of knowledge and ideas among artists is a wonderful way to grow more art and beauty in this world. Right now this world needs more happy. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou do bring the best out in all of us and I would hope the relationships go two ways so that we all can enjoy our art together. I loved doing your challenge, but I found that when I post two times (ie. FFO and FFO Challenge, the people who come to my blog only see the first post and forget to look at the second ... so I have to decide which comes first, right? Anyway, it was fun and I find that Indulging in art frees my mind of the horrors of every day life in our Country under siege. Words fail me when I try to describe the human that thinks he is powerful enough to rip our democracy out of our hands. His ignorance makes him a very dangerous person and it is my hope that his ignorance will be what brings him down. We the People ... will have to make a stand at some point and end this travesty. I am looking into the "NO Kings" Demontration on March 28 ... I hope it brings out twice what the first demonstration achieved. I want to rub his nose in the fact that he can't win us over by being an idiot or Fascist, and that his
ReplyDeleteDelusions of Grandeur are just that ... Delusions! I want him held accountable for everything he has done and I can't think of anything more deserving than a long stay behind bars. So, enough of that ...
Thank you, Nicole for all that you do for our art community. You are a joy!

In some ways it is hard to believe our country has come into such a state of....disgust, disrepair, etc.... Anyway, I am glad you are having great success with your link up.
ReplyDeleteIt's really more on our part to say thank you to you, Nicole. You are such an inspiration for me and your challenges are actually a great way for me to challenge myself.
