Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)
This is the place to show off your face art.
You
know, ANY type of face, nature, the face of a flower, Photography,
drawings, paintings. There just needs to be a face in your blog post.
Well I'm off to an epic start with FFO 2026. Totally forgot to post it last night.
I'm here now and it is Friday.
For this first week of FFO I have a colored pencil piece. She starts like this.
And I finished with this.
I did add a bit a pastel to the top of her head and used ink for her eye lashes.
I have a few AI pieces that are all pretties.
These are all old pieces.
Lovely paintings
Now it's time to show some features.
I want to say that last year all of you went above and beyond with your art. I saw so much adventure and people tying new things. It inspires me to be better in my art. I truly can't wait to see what all of you create in this upcoming year.
First up
I'm not a thief but I would find a way to get this red coat. LOL
It must be coat day. From the wonderful Iris and this is her husband Ingo. Again I would like this coat too.
Christine always has something cute gong on.
FFO Challenge
The new challenge is to create a portrait of anyone you want. It can be your
family, friends, actors, faces you find on the internet, or a perfect
stranger that will allow you a photo to work from and to show with your
portrait. You can work in any medium, except photography and you have
until Friday January 30, 2026. Make it fun and let's see what you come
up with.
Remember this is optional. I still want to see all of your wonderful faces.
That's it for me. Now its time to show me your face.
Nicole

Every hockey game begins with a faceoff, and sometimes they are a draw, if you see what I mean. 😇
Happy New Year 2026!
Lovely portrait, you are so good. Thanks for featuring me today!
What an expressive face! And yes, I love her eyelashes!
Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best in 2026, I am so grateful for your friendship Nicole. I have learned so much from you and I am so happy to get to know you. What a blessing you are. You are inspirational and very creative. Wishing you a wonderful and healthy 2026. I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful artwork this year. You are amazing! Have a brilliant 2026!
It has been awhile since I have had the time to post with you. I have always tried to post with Rain as we have been friends for a long time, but she has now retired and I find I have many faces that I can share that have been sitting quietly in my files waiting for this moment. I am not good at portraits, but I recently tried my hand at my friend's daughter's portrait, which I will share in your FFO challenge. Feels good to be back, Nicole ... Happy New Year!
Andrea @ From the Sol
Lord, I entrust the coming year to you.
Grant us wisdom to shepherd our days, enough patience to endure what must be endured, and a pure heart to believe.
Grant that we may know how to place ourselves in humble relationship with the great things of which life is made.
May we feel like apprentices and disciples of the revelation of your love that unfolds in time.
Do not let us become complacent: may the comfort of the inn never seduce us more than the beauty of the journey;
may the accumulated knowledge of yesterday not dissuade us from going out to contemplate the new dew that shines today in the meadows;
may our gaze not be fixed on the pointing finger, but on that silent flower that is the moon.
In each season teach us to take, to decipher the whole night, not the darkness but a star.
Teach us to consider that it is not evil, but a trace of goodness, that best reflects a heart.
Teach us to pay attention to the flock of clouds, to understand that always, above us who tread on the ground, the heavens are enraptured.
Teach us not to want to be masters of anything or anyone, but pilgrims aware that the history to which they arrive is sacred land.
For those who want to listen, the wind of your Spirit passes like a spring whistle announcing the thaw.
Our existence is never so beautiful as when you look upon us, Lord! — Card. José Tolentino de Mendonça
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Feliz Ano Novo minha querida amiga Nicole. Obrigado pela mensagem e por nossa amizade, mesmo que sendo virtual, é bem antiga. Grande abraço do Brasil.
Hehe, dear Nicole - I totally understand you about my red coat: When I saw it, I was immediately in "must-have" mode too 😅 Now it's been with me for three years (since January 2023). I'm putting you in my will. (But you'll need patience 😉.)
Happy & Healthy New Year (once again) & thanks for featuring me!
🎇🍀🐞✨
Hugs, Traude
I know I'm redundant but I really do love your portraits! Wishing you a very Happy New Year!
I like that red coat, too!
