Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)
This is the place to show off your face art.
You
know, ANY type of face, nature, the face of a flower, Photography,
drawings, paintings. There just needs to be a face in your blog post.
This has been a weird week for me. Good and not so good all rolled up into one. In fact this is a good explanation for my entire year. I'm focusing on the good. :)
Part of that good is all of you and the another part is art. I'm thrilled with what I'm creating and week by week I will show you how it is all coming about.
How has your week been?
For FFO this week I have a colored pencil drawing. I like the sensitivity of this face.
Here is the original. Yes, I know the original is a painting.
Only the finished piece. Obviously the painted original is much more vibrant than the colored pencil but I like the way it turned out. I did make some changes to the eyes and mouth
I have some AI pieces that are in a Quest challenge. The challenge was to use the color yellow in a minimal style. These are mine. You can only have 4 entries.
A nice Andy Worhol representation.
All chosen by the number generator, but I'm making sure everyone gets featured.
First up Kwarkito. Who can go wrong with an image of John Lennon?
There is so much movement in this.
Vivian Voo She joins in from FB so I hope all of you can click onto her. Melody Jacobs. Always has interesting posts.
Barb with her lovely doll.
The new challenge is to create a portrait of anyone you want. It can be your
family, friends, actors, faces you find on the internet, or a perfect
stranger that will allow you a photo to work from and to show with your
portrait. You can work in any medium, except photography and you have
until Friday January 30, 2026. Make it fun and let's see what you come
up with.
That's it for me. Now its time to show me your face.
Nicole

Hi Nicole! I love that you've been working in color lately. I also love all the work you featured. I'm glad you're giving us until 1/30/26 to do a portrait of someone. That'll give me the days I have off to work on one... perhaps I'll attempt to do my grandsons. I pray that you're taking care of your eye, and that it heals in time. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteI love your latest coloured pencil art! And everybody else's art that you feature in this post too! So much talent out there, so great to see it.
ReplyDeleteYou are getting a portrait from me THIS WEEK. I hope I have a new one for the January challenge.
ReplyDeleteLovely portrait work and enjoyed your features. -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI like both portraits, they're both so interesting. Your AI yellow art is fascinating - how do you get these ideas? Thank you also for the feature! I've already chosen an image for the portrait challenge, but I'm a bit intimidated. Have a lovely weekend, Nicole, and if you celebrate, merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWonderful colour pencil drawing.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow quest challenge looks neat.

All looks good. Busy week it's been in this house - out and about.
ReplyDeleteHello Nicole! Happy Friday! I hope and pray that your days get better and easier.
ReplyDeleteMy week was chaos and now it is slowing down. Thank goodness! I really love your portrait, I love the colours and waves and it gives such movement to the piece. I love the warm colours and dark colours too. It is wonderful!
Lovely features of the portrait challenge.
I wish you all the best and have a wonderful Friday and a lovely weekend. I haven’t done my Christmas shopping so I am praying I can do some shopping this weekend.
Hugs,
Your friend,
Maria
I like your colored pencil face. You captured it completely Nicole. And I like it without the texture the painting has. And cool minimalist yellow pieces. I hope the rest of your 2025 goes well and definitely focus on the good. Especially in this world right now and with various health issues everyone has. Thanks for sharing my self-portrait too. hugs-Erika

Fica tranquila minha querida amiga Nicole. Se você escolheu, cada pessoa é porque você gostou mais. Cada escolhido está de parabéns. Gosto não se discute e se respeita. Desejo muita saúde para você e todos os seus familiares. O desenho que você me deu, estará sempre no Blogger.

Violetta
great face!!! I looked at it a while
ReplyDeleteI haven't been painting, life is hard now but you make me want to.... !
I LOVE the curls on Carol too, my hair is stick straight! LeeAnna
I was glad to learn that you did not have a detached retina, and I hope the vitreous gel stops shrinking and you don't have a reason to cry. May you heal well. Meanwhile, your colored pencil portrait is excellent! I like the softer colors. Did you also paint the first one in the past? Striking minimalist images, Nicole! I enjoyed, Erika's, Mia's, Kwarkito's, Roentare's, Vivian's, Melody's, and Barb's art. There are amazing artists in our circle! Keep enjoying doing your art. Having a passion helps navigate challenges. All the best to you!
