Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)
This is the place to show off your face art.
You
know, ANY type of face, nature, the face of a flower, Photography,
drawings, paintings. There just needs to be a face in your blog post.
This is it! FFO first Self Portrait Challenge. I will admit this was difficult for me. Mainly because I look in the mirror and wonder who this old lady is?
The first S.P. is a drawing from this photo. I think I was in my early 60's here.
I missed the mark on likeness but wanted to show this just to let you know that likeness may not be everything if you capture the life of the sitter, or photo.

This second one is from a selfie. I told you I do not like getting my photo taken. I am just not photogenic at all. If a good photo of me appears, it is strictly luck. In this photo you can see how bad my left eye is. A gift from lupus, called ptosis and my constantly red cheeks, also lupus.
It started like this.
and finally. I should have made my hair darker. I do have very dark hair with one stripe of gray in the front, and that doesn't show much.
Now for a bit of AI from my NightCafe Gallery. I thought I would do pretties today and all faces.
Violetta. Go on wonderful trips and see fabulous outfits.
Arnoldo always creative and clever art.
Nicole

If that one is current, you don't have much gray yet.
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to see you, Nicole. You might not like photos of you, but I do like them - as well as your drawings. I think you did a fabulous job! Thank you for this challenge - without you I would have never have dared to do a self-portrait. You really challenged me and it was a great experience.
ReplyDeleteLOL... Do you know the series "Golden Girls"?
ReplyDeleteDorothy: "And I looked in the rear mirror in the car and thought, 'who´s this old lady?!'"
Rose (sweet Betty White); "... and... who was it???".
Very well captured, your self portrait! And yep I don´t like to get my photo taken, either, Ingo always flips when I turn away, LOL.
Have a happy FFO!
Wow all your self portraits are so good! You look great!
ReplyDeleteYou did well in your face art of yourself, in both of them.
ReplyDeleteI also do like your face AI's.
You did such a great job on your self-portrait! I don't have any gray hair yet (74). But I certainly should have by rights with my life--lol! Just genetics. But where my younger version went...hard to see in the mirror anymore. Can hardly wait to see the other artists' self-portraits! :)
ReplyDeleteHola cielo, tras mi ausencia obligada por mi salud regreso a ritmo lento. Excelentes dibujos, un autorretrato muy bueno. Un abrazo grande
ReplyDelete..Nicole, as you can see from my selfie, I don't like to have my picture taken either. I hope that your Thanksgiving was a happy one, now on to a Delightful December.
ReplyDeleteDejo el enlace que sigo sin entender porque no logro ingresarlo 😔 un abrazo

Happy Friday Nicole and happy FFO! I love your portraits! You are beautiful inside and out! You are so wonderful at doing portraits and I have learned so much from you. Thank you for hosting this blog party because I learned so much from this experience. I appreciate you and thank you so much. Lovely portraits and sending you hugs and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! :) Have a wonderful Friday and a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou did well with the two self portraits, but none of us expected less! I am looking forward to seeing others.
ReplyDeleteI really like your second drawing better. It is clearly you. I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. I missed your post yesterday.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you so much, dear Nicole for featuring my blog. You did nice drawings. Time flys...I notice it too when I look at pictures that were taken years ago....
ReplyDeleteHave a good time and all the best
Violetta
Great self-portraits, Nicole, I like them both! Your face shows your warmth, humanity and character! This was a fun challenge to do, thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful self portrait ~ I didn't do one ~ hope the angels will suffice ~ hugs, an artist reflects
ReplyDeleteI posted mine too early last week so it is posted again today.
ReplyDeleteLove both of your self portraits. They look like photographs.
ReplyDeleteI think you got them both! Thanks for reminding me to actually share the link on your own space! Working a little frenzied here. I think both your portraits capture the you of the photos.
ReplyDeleteI don't like pictures of myself either but I think that's a nice picture of you. Nice drawing from the pictures too.
ReplyDeleteI don't like looking at the old me either, that's why I have chosen young photos again. My favourite one of you is the second one, it's really good.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on both sketches, Nicole! As you know, I am not participating this week. I am definitely not photogenic. I wonder if everyone says that about themselves. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by for some laughs with my newest edition of You've Got Mail. Have a doodletastic weekend, my dear! xo
The eyes in the sketches carried melancholy
ReplyDeleteI missed the prompt.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you and you do look great!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with your self portraits I have never been good at drawing. I'm impressed and enjoyed looking at them.
ReplyDeleteI love how you featured self-portraits of two different stages in your life. They are both gorgeous. I'm humbled and honored that you featured my abstract Mona Lisa.
ReplyDeleteBom sábado e bom final de semana, minha querida amiga Nicole. Seu desenhos ficaram maravilhosos. Ficaram idênticos as fotos, parabéns pelo seu talento, minha querida amiga.
ReplyDeleteI like your self portraits , Nicole.
ReplyDeleteWow you did every justice to your self portrait dear Nichole to be very honest 🥰👍👍👍
ReplyDeleteYou looked quite younger in your early sixties wow 🤗
Your selfie is so lovely too 👌♥️
Your left eye reminds me my mom’s left eye which would look different when she would eat certain things in dinner, she had few health issues related to her stomach, gallbladder and spleen.she was operated three times in her fifties.I don’t know if that was the reason for her left eye discomfort
Thank you so much for your kind words for my art, Nicole.
ReplyDeleteAs for you, I see a beautiful woman in your photos. You are pretty even now, do not forget it. And I LOVE your portraits. Congrats, my talented friend.
thanks
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing yourself with us dear! Aloha
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see you.
ReplyDeleteI liked both portraits.
Lovely AI images from NightCafe Gallery too.
All the best Jan
This is such a wonderful idea for the FFO! Thanks for sharing your own self-portraits—they’re both fantastic, and I especially love the depth in that final painted piece. Congrats on hosting the first challenge! Now I need to check out the amazing features.
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed the fun this week Nicole. Thanksgiving holiday "things" just got in the way. Both of those self portraits are great, especially the second one. Perhaps because it's now you felt more connected to it. I should have a self portrait of myself next Friday.I don't expect it is going to wow anyone though-grin. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYOu are such a perfect host for these art-sharing events! I love your work, and it’s generous of you to have a platform for so many others.
