Sunday Stormy weekend

 Hi Everyone!

I guess winter is upon us. We are in a wicked storm that is hitting the entire Pacific coast. We have just stayed in, watched movies, tried to stay warm and made each other laugh. It's a good thing. After 45 years together that we can still laugh so hard that our cheeks hurt.

One thing Mr. M. can eat with the CKD are tacos. One night this week I made chicken breast, home canned potato tacos. Of course there were onions from the garden, red bell pepper and some good seasoning.

I did add some sour cream to mine and we had some home canned refried beans to go with it.

Before the rains started I went out to the garden to see that my Nasturtiums are taking over this corner. That is perfectly fine with me. I think it is choking out the Borage though.

Taking over the Pork n Bean plant too.

Also this Roma tomato plant thinks it's summer

It is loaded with tomatoes, some turning red.

And new blossoms all over the plant. I will have to check on it today when the rain lets up.

The other thing I have been doing this weekend is trying to get a good photo of me for the FFO Self Portrait challenge. OMG! I already told you how I DO NOT take good photos at all. I have notice that my face has changed so much with lupus and 25 years of on and off prednisone. However, I will get something I can live with and be ready.

I hope you will join in. Here are the rules.

FFO self portrait, I ask that it is really you from any age. Please include the photo you worked from. If you are creating from life, like looking in a mirror just show any photo of you now.
Any medium can be used except a photograph. Ya know, you can't just put a photo of yourself. However, it can be realism, character, surreal, abstract as long as we can see you in the art.
Any kind of expression. Create you as you see yourself. Now, I know this can take awhile. It will for me. So you have until November 28, 2025 to show your face on FFO. That gives you 5 weeks to work on it.

That's it for me. I have to get this house warmed up.
Have a great Sunday.

 Nicole

Lucky you to still have tomatoes. Yum. I should say I don't have any because today I found a self seeded plant full of tiny green cherry tomatoes. But we will probably have frost tonight which means those tomatoes won't get to full size. Stay safe from the storm.

You guys have been together for a long time. That's great. You hardly ever hear of couples lasting that long together anymore. The tacos look good. I love tomatoes. You have so many there. How awesome.

I’m so glad Mr. M. has a taco option that works for his CKD, and home-canned potato tacos is absolutely amazing. It's such a comforting meal. And I love seeing the garden thrive despite the season. Your Nasturtiums clearly didn't get the memo that summer is over; they look fantastic taking over the corner.

Happy Sunday Nicole! It's wonderful that you can laugh with your hubby. I am like that with my hubby too. Laughing is so good for us. Your tacos look wonderful and healthy. Your garden is beautiful and I hope to have a garden like yours in the future. I look forward to the self portrait challenge. Have a great Sunday Nicole. Stay warm and lots of hugs!

I hope you weather the storm well. With the illnesses that you have mentioned, I think you have weathered a lot worse. Take care.

Those tacos look SO GOOD! I wish it was cooler here, unfortunately we're still at upper 70's and low 80's.

You are lucky to still have nasturtiums growing and looking so beautiful as well as your blooming tomato plant. The taco choice sounds delicious and love the cartoon type photo of the two of you sitting together. Hope your weather is better now. I just started to follow you and would love it if you would visit my blog and follow me back. Thanks.

Thank you for the smile about your laughing together so much!
I´m not good with real faces. Also I have an "inner pic" of myself. There is a photograph, a snapshot of my Dad. He was called and turned around very annoyed. I think I look the same sometimes! Let´s see... I might try, but please don´t look like my Dad if I don´t make it...

Tacos and refried beans seems like a perfect dinner to accompany laughter. Miriam and I might give it a try!

Lovely post. Those tomatoes are looking good, let's hope they turn red before the cold sets in.
Nasturtiums are great, yours look good and we have plenty growing in our garden too but in one area.

It started raining here yesterday morning and is raining this morning. It has been off and on, but the air has been moist the entire time .
I am amazed at that tomato plant.

Nasturtiums are like that, we had one that completely hid our compost pile. Accidental planting, but turned out so positive. Tacos look great. Keep up the good work.

I love that you can laugh so hard together that your cheeks hurt. And oh, nasturtiums. Another one of my favorites.
