Hi Everyone!
This morning in my garden it felt like fall. You know that change in the air?
I pulled all of my onions. For those of you who don't know when onions are ready to harvest the tops fall over.
Like this.
However, because of the weather I had onions bolt and the tops become very thick. I received my newsletter from the onion company that reported due to strange weather this year all over the country onions are taking a hit. It's ether too cold or too hot. Onions bolting and getting thick tops. Boy was I glad to get that email. So today I harvested all of my onions. They will have to cure for about 2 weeks.
Lots of cucs

This plant is loaded with beans. A hummingbird comes every evening to pollinate. |
and not peppers this year either.
Hope your garden in growing.

Sorry to hear the wind of the Pacific Coast destroyed your cherry tomatoes. There are some left that will be ready in a week. I like your pink onions you've just harvested, Nicole. Great job.
I'm going to be eating some small garden-fresh carrots for supper tonight from a friend's garden.
Still looks like you harvested a good amount. Good luck with the others maturing before it gets cold.
Boa tarde. Uma excelente terça-feira. Colheita maravilhosa, minha querida amiga Nicole. Brevemente teremos árvores com muitas frutas no nosso quintal. Jabuticaba e guaíquica. Frutas típicas da América do Sul.
Lovely harvest
...beautiful bounty!
How satisfying it must feel to bring in your onion harvest, even with the challenges this unusual weather has brought
At least you can enjoy some of your garden's harvest.
Desde luego cualquier fruto que da la tierra es una bendición. Qué maravilla de guerto. Un abrazo
It was fall at my house today too. Nice cukes. You have so many. My tomatoes are coming on strong, and I have a lot of peppers. Interesting about onions. Mine are getting close to picking, but I'm trying to hold out awhile longer if possible. You have fabulous pickings this year. hugs-Erika
thanks
The three pepper plants at Mom’s are green and blooming. However, we have not had the first pepper form even where the blooms have fallen off.
It seems the weather is playing havoc with them also.
Who could imagine a world without onions? I think that there is barely a day when we don’t use them. And there is such a variety. I am a dedicated onionophile!
That is quite a haul.
Wow~ You are doing great with your awesome garden ~ good to know about onions and the weather this year ~ be well ~ lots of hugs,
an artist reflects (carol and ziggy)
