Hi Everyone!
It's Sunday, I have my chores done and have been in the garden.
I told you about the growing carrots in the egg carton, I won't be doing that again. Here is another fat carrot from the carton and one that grew in the same bed without the carton. I also got a chive and an onion. It's been a strange weather year. I have never harvested one thing at a time before.
I did harvest a basket full of herbs.
Mint, Lemon, Lavender, Oregano, and some Thyme.
I forgot I planted beets in with the Salvia. They are doing great. 
It's so late for string beans but, again, the weather has not been good.
Carrots grow well in 5 gallon buckets
And another section of late peas. I have them shaded off.
I did harvest my first cucumber the other day. 
And made this with it. OMG! This cuc is so sweet.

Yes, the weather is crazy here, too. Like Autumn this week... Let´s make the best of it.
Ah ha! So there is proof that the carrot grew to the shape of the egg carton. Clearly the cartons don’t break down quickly enough for that use. Maybe next year I can plant herbs in a few buckets.
Your cucumber sandwich looks absolutely delicious. I can only imagine the crunch!
Enjoying the produce from your own efforts looks very satisfying. Our herbs are also ready and I am adding them to many of our foods.

Carrots obviously need room to stretch--lol!
Everything does look good that managed to grow in the odd weather...except for the one that became food for something or other. I also wondered about voles, but if they found food to dig to they would probably have gotten to more than one onion, I suppose.
I do hope you get a lot more from the garden this summer. :)
You must have the greenest thumb in the world! I love it and somehow you got it to grow despite all your weird weather. I love herbs -- it's the only thing I grow!
