Hi Everyone!
I know a few weeks ago I said I wasn't going to complain about the weather. Well, I lied. 😏
The last 3 days has been pouring rain, wind, and cold. Yeah that reads 51°F and at night it has been 39°F
It's like our normal winter here.
Since I garden mostly in containers the plants can't take this much rain. So EVERYTHING had to be covered. However, 2 days of cover, plants needed to be watered. I uncovered everything for a good soaking but after I write this I need to cover everything up again.
This is my driveway, well you can't see it because IT'S flooded!!!
OK, I better calm down before I blow a blood vessel. Ha ha ha. I'm really not as upset as the sounds, I'm just so sick and tired of having not having summery type days, when it's suppose to be summer.
On the other side of things I have taken this day to draw, while Mr. M. is watching car shows.
Also, as I am sure you all know, I'm always researching and learning new things about the garden. Do you know what this is?
You are correct if you said a container of yest fermenting. I have read about this for several years and thought I would give it a try. You will need;
1 quart/1liter of warm water, 1T of dry yeast, and 1T of sugar. Place in a container and let it set for 24 to 48 hours, stirring once in a while. When you are ready to use it make sure that you have already watered your plants. Then take 1 part yeast to 10 parts water and mix. Add 1 cup of mixture to the base of your plants. If any of you have tired this let me know how it did for you.
That's it for now. I have to put my rain coat on and cover up my garden.
Hope you have sunshine.
Nicole

Sorry about your bad weather, hope it get better soon. Good luck with your experiment. Anesha x
I've never heard of such cold weather in June in a place located close to the see at 45° latitude. I hope your vegetable garden will not be affected by the bad weather.
Take care!
...stop by, we are in the low 90s!
May hot, sunny weather return to you soon! I haven't heard about that fermented yeast treatment for gardens but sounds nutritional for the plants?
Hang in there, Nicole. Your garden may be drenched, but your spirit is still blooming bright; here’s hoping sunnier days find you soon
Sorry about your bad weather.
Meanwhile here in the UK we are having a heatwave!
All the best Jan
Happy yeasting
We just had tornados nearby, storms with high winds, and are in the low 90s.
Never heard of putting yeast on plants. You'll have to let us know if it works...for whatever it is supposed to do--lol! :)
Sorry about your bad weather... hope things better soon
We have had an unusual amount of rain starting with the month of May. It is supposed to be drier this week, but oh goodness the heat! It was 95 or higher yesterday.
I have never heard of yeast on plants, what is it supposed to do?
That is pretty cool for the time of year. We are at the opposite end of the scale here, heading into several days of 30+ weather, with high humidity. Ugh!
The weather seems to have so many extremes- Hot and then cold and then hot again. And let us know how that yeast works. I'm curious and might want to try it. Stay warm and dry. hugs-Erika
Happy Sunday Nicole, and have a good week.
Much♡love
We indeed had summer. Had. Now it´s cool and windy, so much so my lavendar keeps getting knocked over. Let us hope for summer!
We went from unseasonably cool a few weeks ago to unbearably hot this week. Yesterday, high 90s. Today is supposed to be warmer. I've often said that there are only about four or five days in a given year where if I had air-con I'd use it. These are those days!
Our June is killer back in our city .On an other hand Islamabad is little relief thankfully but it is not raining as expected in this month here usually.
I am sorry your weather isn’t friendly, for your plants particularly.I can imagine how bad it can feel
Wishing I better summer days 🤞🙏🥰
