Hi Everyone!
While Mr. M. was in hospital I was very fortunate to have a room at the Heartfelt House. It is part of Ronald McDonald house.
What I understand is that half of the facility is the Ronald McDonald house and it is set up for families. Riverbend Hospital donated a million dollars to build the other half for people like me with no kids. When I say it is 5 star, I do mean 5 star. I didn't want to leave. LOL
The grounds are beautiful with pathways and places to sit. There are outside play things for kids too.

The inside is immaculate. One half for families and the other half for adults.
It's worth the click.
Staying here saved me from driving 2 hours everyday. Which I would have just stayed in Mr. M's. room. There is a full kitchen on our side and any food is free to eat unless someone has their name on it. One night I came in and there were 7 large pizza's from Pizza Johns. They donate once a week. Volunteers come in to make some of the best food ever on the family side where there is a full chefs kitchen. One night I ate the best chicken enchiladas I have ever had. I mean they were better than mine. LOL
The rooms are so comfortable, an amazing bathroom and a small kitchen. Oh yeah a laundry room free to use.
The people that work there are so kind as well. I mentioned before I found my spirit sister there. I will tell you about her next time.
If you have a Ronald McDonald house in your area think about donating. They help so many people in a time of worry and stress.

This place brings tears to my eyes of the good people do to help others, having a place like this available.
...it's nice to know that the world still has caring people.
What a wonderful service to out-of-town spouses and families of people in hospital! We have a Ronald McDonald House here but I don't know if it can also accommodate single adults.
Wow Nicole. That place is really a gift. It looks like a 5 star resort, and I bet you were able to actually get some rest there too. hugs-Erika
This is fantastic. I am so glad you had such a beautiful spot to stay and not have to make a long and stressful drive when already stressed out. They deserve all the support they can get.
I'm so glad you had that comfort at such a high stress time. It's so vital to attend to the family of the patient. So often they get no attention at all, everyone focused on the patient, naturally. But the patient's support system also needs support, and I'm happy you got it. I hope all goes well.
What a beautiful place and how great that you had a way to retreat from all the stress while you were under so much pressure.
Is that a statue of Sacagawea? We saw several statues of her on our trip along the Columbia River a few years ago.

What a wonderful thing to have access to when you are in distress. The place Dad and I stayed years ago when Mom had pancreatitis was nowhere near this nice, but it was still a blessing to us.
I’m glad to hear this. I have donated to this charity and I’ll have to do it again.
The place is really looking gorgeous
It’s great that places like this exist. I had no idea.
Wow on the inside and yes. When you fight like you do you need something nice.
I had icky hotel rooms or just our home. Glad you have better choices!!! Hmmm, Pizza. And nice volunteers.
I googled, Braunschweig has no such house, Munich has and Braunschweig did help.
Best wishes from here.
