T Stands for a few things

 Hi Everyone!

It's a new year and I'm claiming it. The year of the Dragon and Rain reminded me that it's a Strength year, 2024 (2+0+2+4=8) the number 8 card in the tarot is Strength. The 8 card in the Medicine deck is Otter, the realization of dreams. Number 8 in the faerie deck is strength and bravery. The 8th card of the Sacred path is the East Shield. Sunlight, illumination and clarity. When you have that you have strength.

So life get the f#$* out of my way.

So how did we start the new year? People have different beliefs to get the year going. My Mom always cleaned her house including the cupboards, drawers, and closets. She said if you start the year off that way, you will keep your house clean and organized all year. My daughter goes southern. Black eyed peas, greens, cabbage, and ham. This brings prosperity.
Mr. M and I do the house cleaning, and make a big dinner and eat every bite so that we will have food on our table all year long.
Also, I have many types of bells in my house. I go around and ring them to clean out the old and bring in the new.
My first bake of the year.
Coconut Cookies to bring blessings of prosperity and abundance.

There are a few other things I do like keeping white candles lit all day, and burning sage.
What do you do to bring in the new year?

For my drink to get into
Bleubeard and Elizabeth's T party I am starting my year off with water.
Can You Die From Drinking Too Much Water?

2024 can you believe it?

Nicole

I usually had a New Year's Eve ceremony to welcome in the new year with picking an angel card and doing a burning bowl ceremony...but I packed everything away because I didn't think I would still be here. So greeting this year was rather uneventful. I just thought about how grateful I am. I do think 2024 will be better than my last couple of years--lol! :) Happy New Year! I like your traditions. :)

Happy New Year Nicole. I love people's rituals to start the new year. The bells sound like a good idea. I'm like your Mo. I clean! I did a lot yesterday and then again today. Tomorrow I'll finish. I hope your year is everything you want it to be. And that you have a happy T day too. hugs-Erika

You have some nice customs to begin the new year. We don't do anything special except for having a nice meal on New Year's Eve and a glass of sparkly. Your coconut cookies look very good - even though I'm not much into coconut, I do like coconut cookies. I hope this year will be much better for you healthwise, Nicole. Happy T day - Carola

That sounds plain wonderful!!!
We had sparkling wine, that was that. And salami-baguette, Ingo actually does not like, he bought it for me :-) Oh, and I slept a lot! Now the first work-tea with milk - Happy New Year and T-Day to you!

I enjoy drinking water too. On lunar calendar, this year is not a good year in astrology. I will try to stay safe

Our only tradition is eating black eyed peas, greens and cornbread. My change to that tradition (for the diabetic family members) is to make a low carb “cornbread “

I love the thought of a strength year -- and you need that one especially! My biggest accomplishment yesterday? Cleaning the fridge! Happy New Year!

To bring in the New Year we wake up! Actually we go to a family gathering on my wife’s side - a veritable tribe - where the participation gets smaller each year and has more people checking their watches to see how soon they can leave!

Happy New Year, Nicole!

We watch movies and eat all NYE pretty much. lol I trust God to show me the way I should walk each day in the new year. I find strength in Him regardless of what's going on around me which gives me the inner peace to feel like a Lion instead of mouse. God is good! I pray for all of good blessings from above to given to you and yours throughout 2024. I know last year was a rough one but I believe things will improve. I'm looking forward to our continued friendship in the new year, my dear! xo

I've not heard of some of these traditions, but I am glad you have a good attitude about 2024. I think it is wonderful. I can't think of a year I haven't stayed up to welcome the new year. For me, it's a tradition. I also used to eat black eyed peas on New Year's day, but I stopped doing that a few years ago.

Water is always a good choice, dear Nicole. Thanks for sharing it and your traditions with us for T this Tuesday, dear.

I had visitors, as you have been able to see in my blog. They have been living in the Netherlands for many years but originally they are from the Philipines. We ate noodles late at night (close to midnight) as it represents longevity.
Happy T-Day and Happy New Year,
Lisca

Hi Nicole, hope you are feeling good and this is a good year for you. We do the cleaning thing too and stay up to welcome in the new year, even as kids we had to do that, though that was much harder. Coconut cookies look good. Sorry for my lateness, it was a crazy week Happy New Year and Happy T Day! Elle xx
