Hi Everyone!
Today is TAD with Rain, the theme is Red. You have the option of following the theme or going off on your own. I love having that choice.
I promise not to go into the creepy weather too much today. We have had 2 days with no rain. There is no sunshine either but I will take it. I was checking over the potatoes. One bucket potatoes was in bad shape. I gently lifted the branch and the bucket slid off the platform. OK... now I can see what is going on inside. The soil was so wet that when I squeezed it water dripped from my hand. I put the bucket in the wheel barrel and started digging through the dirt. I found 2 medium and 3 very small potatoes. This is not good. I normally get at least 40 potatoes per bucket. I am so hoping the other 5 buckets will do better.
One of the cabbage plants doing well. |
One bean plant starting to bloom |
This pea plant doing OK. |
Bush squash doing well. |
Yay bush squash |
These beets are really trying. |
Even the herbs are having a difficult time. |
More peas really trying to grow. |
Mr. M. got roast. I ate the veggies with a salad. |
My Italian grandmother would definitely frown on the way I make my sauce, but we like it and that's what counts. |
Pizza bread to go with the spaghetti. |
Fast, easy and sooo good. |
Tonight I'm using the rest of the pizza dough to actually make pizza. |

Your portraits have grown by leaps and bounds with realism. Once again, this one is a winner!
I don’t know about the red landscape, but red pendant is awesome.
Replant those potatoes, still time for them to make a crop.
Almost Every plant that I got from the coastal supplier bit the bullet this winter, I look at my planned yard scape and burned the plan, not accurate growing zones at all. If I get more, I’ll make sure they will survive to a lower zone. Or I’ll get plants and trees locally which is better but I have to transport them.
The face is truly excellent, you are going to be a great portrait artist soon now.
Your garden is looking great Nicole. You have produce coming. You might have had a lot of rain but it is way ahead of mine. And what a wonderful face drawing. And all your meals look so yummy!!! MY chef BIL made some pizza bread and added fried onions. It was delicious. I'd never thought of making pizza bread. Hope your week is going well, and I'll send some energy to the sun gods so you might get some. hugs-Erika
Your garden sounds like it is surviving the rains for the most part, your foods sound delicious, and I enjoy seeing your art Hugs Kathy
...every gardening season is the same!
I was thinking recipe, recipe just to read on. Oh.
Hmmm... Pizza!
I saw this gadget, but I actually love left over spaghetti to put in the pan with olives and mozzarella.
Beautiful face!
Have a great day, maybe sunshine for a change?
Overall your gardens looks terrific I would say. Too bad about the potatoes but every gardener experiences a few setbacks, and perhaps future hauls will be much better.
I am glad that some of your garden is doing well.
My favorite gadget is probably my microplane grater. I love it for parmesan cheese.
I have a spaghetti measuring stick too and it's about as old as yours, LOL! Absolutely invaluable.
I'm impressed with your garden and hope the weather cooperates.
That bread looks delicious. I have a spaghetti measuring stick exactly like that. I've had it for decades. I use it every time I cook spaghetti :)
I'm not so sure about the spaghetti tool. I think I would have to use double holes for my grandkids.
Lovely face, very realistic.
Happy Thursday Nicole. Your bread looks delicious.
Much❤love
Lovely reds, enjoyed the food gardening and art updates.
Overall I think your garden is doing well.
I like the look of your food and it's always good to see your art.
All the best Jan
Beautiful post
I really like your red art, Nicole! The face you drew is strong and beautiful. I'm sorry that some of your garden is struggling. I hope your weather improves and that everything flourishes. Your spaghetti sauce looks delicious. Have a great weekend!
Your sketched face is beautiful Sis!!! You're so talented! I'm so sorry about the potato bucket...let's hope the others do better! Your cabbage and beets!!! I'm officially jealous! And the pizza! Be still my heart! Oddly enough I haven't made pizza in weeks...strange isn't that? :) I'll have to rectify that and make some this weekend! I love that noodle gadget, I used to have one, but it got lost somewhere. Now I overcook noodles, I just can't figure out the ratio. I think my favourite gadget is...my entire kitchen lol!
Evey single think on your blog today is wonderful. Love the RED..especially the necklace.
Oh your garden is doing great. I am struggling with mine. We had wet, wet weather and cool days, then all of a sudden it was scorching hot and my plants all took a nose dive. I have been watering them and a few have recovered, but some will have to be replaced. Your food makes me hungry ... everyone's food makes me hungry. I think that is a natural state for me because, unless I have just eaten, I am hungry. I try to keep myself busy so I don't think about eating, but that seldom works. Anyway, I agree, I love how your face tuned out ... love her tentative expression. Wonder what is on her mind :) Guess we will never know :) Stay well, Nicole ...
