TAD 6/23

 Hi Everyone!
Before I get into TAD. I have to say I have had a busy week. I receive a newsletter from OSU. It's an extension for continual learning and there are many subjects. I chose gardening for the NW. The letter started with this.
Hello Nicole. As most Oregonians know we have has the wettest spring on record.
Uhhhh REALLY. Yes, I noticed. I knew we had and enormous amount of rain, I didn't know it was a record breaker. The rains have stopped and now we are into the winds. Everyday up to 30 mph. This will last until Sept. So, when I am excited about growing things its because I work very hard to keep the plants protected from the elements.
So Yay this AM I finally have flowers.
There are only 2 but I will take them

It's also the time of year for Marine layers.
OK enough of that. Today, I had to drive into Eugene for the follow up on my spine injection. What a relief this injection has given me. No pain what-so-ever. If the pain returns I will get another injection. Also, the doctor gave me a gas card to pay for my trip to Eugene. I have never heard of that before. I asked if he got reimbursed. He said, "No, its our way of helping people and giving back." I almost broke into tears. How awesome is that?
Today is TAD and Rain's theme is purple. Hmmm.. I really thought I was more of a purple person. No not the purple people eater. ha ha ha. I went around my house and found that there really isn't much purple. Here is what I found.

My mom make this skull light cover for me and the face of course I made.

$ store skull and ribbon. I made the hat.

There is a bit of purple on this. My mom made it.

Mr. Ms. favorite pillow that I made for him

The flowers on her head are purple

I am also linking up with
lunchbreak
I am writing this Wednesday night and I am very tired.
So I will close with a reminder to come join me for Friday Face OFF. Make a post and feature a face. It can be in any medium and literally any kind of face.
Then come and link up.
Have a nice evening everyone.

Nicole

That is great about the gas card. I haven't heard of that either. And two flowers are better than no flowers. And I love seeing those art pieces and reading about them. Hope the garden is getting some sun. Hugs-Erika

I'm glad that the injections help, and how wonderful that the doctor gave you a gas card! That is so thoughtful during this time of high gas prices and no public transportation. I can understand your joy of seeing these flowers after all the rain and now the wind. That's a beautiful poppy, by the way.

Good to hear the injections work so well, and what a kind gesture to be given a gas card. I'm not so much for purple either. I like what you've found though.

Glad to hear the injections are helping you and you're are getting relief from the pain. The doctor's behaviour is really awesone. I've never heard of such gas card. That's great!
I have learnt through your blog that it isn't easy to keep the plants protected in Oregon.

Regards

We're having a windy summer, too. When it's hot, it's a blessing but some are quite intense. So glad you are getting some help with the shots and your doc rocks! A gas card -- that's awesome, especially these days. Lovely purple, too!

You are obviously an all weather girl Nicole and prepared for anything in the garden, looking at the Poppy and cornflower is like looking at my own, amazing. Good to hear the injection has worked well, such relief for you.
I'm not really a purple person but I have very much learnt to love it as I grow older.
Happy TAD Hugs TRacey xx

We have had record breaking rain here as well (in Illinois)and now we have hot, hot weather. My flowers are struggling even when I water them regularly. You would think that all that rain would have sunk into the ground and kept things wet for awhile, but apparently not. And God Bless your doctor. He is a rarity in today's world. Hang on to him and never let go :0 You are like me ... I love purple and my daughter loves purple and my granddaughter loves purple, but when I went looking for it, it was not plentiful :( But I think what you found was perfect for the prompt ... Always enjoy coming to see you Nicole :) Stay pain free and well ...

Gardening for the NW is a great subject to learn! I think that's awesome. With your rain and winds, you need some extra tips! The flowers are so pretty Sis. I love all of your purple treasures, especially your Mom's light cover! That's beautiful! And Mr. M's pillow too, I see a lovely little face in there! ☺ I'm so happy that your injections are helping you, I should get one for my foot. I got an appointment to see a podiatrist...October. WTH??? Anyway, until then, I 'll do my best!! I should start asking for gas cards!
