Hi Everyone!
Today is T Stands for garden and storms.
Come visit the T gang at
Yes, we got another 2 inches of rain in the last 18 hours. 1 day here and there of no rain. On those days Mr. M. built me an awesome elevated garden box so I don't have to bend over. But first I want to tell you how difficult this is for Mr. M. In 1990 a f.b. ran the red and hit Mr. M. as he was going through the intersection. He was on his way home from work in a 2 ton flatbed truck. The women hit him so hard that the truck flipped end over end. That day changed our world forever. Mr. M. was never able to work again. He has had many surgeries and his body, even though he looks good, is damaged from his spin to his shoulders. So for him to build this for me took everything he has. Of course I helped, we make a pretty good team in things like this.
No garage so Mr. M. makes do with what we have. |
I didn't get WIP photos so this is how it ended up. |
He put polly inside and I cut out the drain hole. |
|
Then we stapled screen on the drain holes. Ya know to keep the rats out. Not kidding. |
We put in 2 big bins of compost, sticks, and covered it with cardboard. Now for a dry day to go get soil to fill it up. it is 8x42' |
Do you remember that last week I put a concotions on my plants to help them along? |
Here is my ticket to get into the T-Party.
Black coffee and a surprise muffin that I will be featuring on Food Wednesday with Cathy.
Have a great day everyone!

Very sad story about your Hubby. One short moment can change so much.
You must be so happy with what he does for you.
To a great day!
Hi Nicole, our husbands are so special-as they work through pain for us. So sorry he has had to live in pain all of these years My husband has had to do the same (but not from an accident) This will be an awesome gardening box for you. We were thinking of making something similiar for a few veggies here do to the chipmunks stealing all the foods I try to grow.
Same here sooo much rain since early april and it's still raining and cold again.
Looking forward to your surprise muffins Happy T
Sorry your husband had such a horrific accident. The box he has made is fantastic, very well done. Enjoy your coffee and muffins, hugs, Valerie
Kudos to both of you. The results are impressive.
Oh my goodness, I can only imagine how fast that car was flying to turn over a truck that size.
The raised box looks great. We have chipmunks that want to eat our plants. I suggested to my brother that we put down wire screen under the dirt to keep them from tunneling up into the beds.
Looks great, lots of work but you will make it worthwhile in homegrown food!
...we could use a bit of rain, send some our way.
Your garden box looks beautiful, and it’s great to hear how your husband is a hero for building it.

I hope Mr M received a good insurance settlement out of that terrible accident. Life can be so unfair.
We’ll done Mr M! That raised bed looks awesome. What are you going to plant?
Wow! That concoction must have been powerful! I’ll go and find your blog from last week to read about it.
Yummy muffins….
Have a happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
wow- it looks so professional- well done the two of you! You make a great team. What a horrible accident and life changing experience with such injuries.
Will have to check what the surprise is in the muffins:) Happy T day!
What a fabulous elevated planter, I can't wait to see it full of all your plants! Mr. M is very talented to build it and I was saddened to hear of his accident, that sounds awful and I'm so pleased that he is so resilient and doing ok. I'd happily join you for a cuppa and a muffin, although I'm trying to be good and get rid of the weight I put on during lockdown ...lol 😉. Happy T Day! Hugs Jo x
That planter is perfect! I'm impressed he was able to such a big job so well. That crash was life-changing :(
Happy T Tuesday
What a guy. And what an awful experience. You have clearly conquered things so well on that level but nonetheless, to build something difficult with challenges is truly a gift of love. It's beautiful.
We're in the rain zone, too and it's getting very old.
Boa tarde Nicole. Desejo plena recuperação total para o seu esposo. Grande abraço carioca.
How terrific you and Mr M were able to make that! I hope to have something similar in the future.. Looking forward to seeing what you put in it! Happy Tday! Hugs! deb
Now that is love! And empathy for back issues, too, I'd imagine. This raised bed will be so nice for you. :)
Wow! ~ Bravo to you both ~ what a team ~ And you have risen above your setbacks ~ Beautiful results of the planter ~ Xo
Wishing love and laughter in your days,

So sorry to learn what happened to Mr M
Wow! That garden box looks awesome. You do make a great team! Happy T Day
I've been by six times. I thought I was safe when I could leave a comment on Linda's blog, but blogger has it in for me today.
So very sorry to read about your husband's accident. I hope he has disability. My friend got hurt on the job and it took her NINE years to collect disability. She even had a good attorney, too.
Your new elevated box looks wonderful. You and Mr, M did a great job.
Nice that you shared your muffins and coffee with usm for T this Tuesday. Thanks for sharing them and your new planter with us for T. I guess I'll learn about the muffins tomorrow, dear.
I'm so sorry to read of your hubby's accident. It makes projects like this all the more special and what a great job you both did. My daughter uses elevated planter boxes for her veggie gardens. The look great!
Enjoy the rest of your week. x
A wonderful raised bed made by your man, despite his back issues. Sounds like a horrible accident. Looks like an interesting concoction to feed your plants.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
How horrible that your husband had such a bad accident. I'm sorry that this happened to you. How awesome of him that he was able to build this box for you. It looks great and it certainly is good that you don't have to bend over anymore. I hope that soon you can fill in the soil and can grow what in it what you want.
That sounds like a horrible accident. It always stops me in my tracks when I read these things because my husband was diagnosed with 100% kidney failure the same way. Although he could continue to work once he got out of the hospital and into dialysis, I can relate to the how one moment can change everything. I think your garden box looks wonderful and is well engineered. He really loves you for certain. I hope you get some great plants and veggies, and I hope it was a happy T day too. hugs-Erika
Congrats to your husband on such a useful garden box! He really made a great job! Sorry to read he had such a horrible accident and many surgeries. It's so important that you always help him and you both make a good team in working in the garden. Actually, the garden and backyard always need your job, such as painting the fence, cutting the grass, etc.
Easy to see how your coffee break, would be delicious, Nicole (Black coffee and muffin).
Happy Wednesday!
I love your raised bed, I have some that are made from recycled plastic bottles and are sold as modular pieces, so you can stack them as high as you want. That's pretty much all I am using at the moment for growing, except for the potato sacks. Sorry to hear of your husband's car accident, that sounds awful, and to have lasting injuries too. The garden bed will make a big difference to your gardening plus you can practice no-dig gardening which is great for the soil. Happy T Day Elle/EOTC xx
Hi, Nicole 😀
A great garden project 💚
I noticed that Google let me identify here 👏
Have a nice day 🌿🐦
