TAD with Rain

 Hi Everyone!

As much as I hate getting old, I must say I had a wonderful birthday. Hundreds of messages, texts, emails and just a lot of love sent my way. Mr. M. also has been building me an elevated garden box. It's 4x8'. We got it painted and put together yesterday. Added some drain holes today. Tomorrow we will, hopefully, roll it up onto some pallets. This way I don't have to hurt my back gardening. Wish I knew some young guys to come help with getting it in place. I didn't take any work in progress photos but when it's up I will show you the end results.

Now for TAD, to all of my artist readers who have never joined TAD because of the themes, here is great news, you can now enter any kind of art you like, or you can still follow the theme. This is a great way to show your art, meet new blogging friends and just have a good art time. Come join us every Thursday. TAD Thursday Art Date.

Rain's theme this week is  Leaves and Branches. Here are a few pieces of my art for the branches.

As you know our weather has just been the worst for my garden. I lost several plants to a (not normal freeze) and my Grey Squash is just not doing well. A remedy I learned my first year of gardening is 1 C of milk, 4 C of water and 3T of Molasses. Mix, then water sick plants with it. This stuff works like magik. Oh just 1 cup per plant.

Here are the leaves part of the theme

The cold turned the leaves yellow and curled.

In a few days I will see if the magik took.

This was our dinner the other night. I had some left over sauce that I added some Italian Sweet Sausage to. Then made a cheese sauce and mixed it all up. Put some grated cheese on top and baked until the cheese was melted.

Add a salad and you have dinner.
Come join in with TAD

Have a great day today.

Nicole

Your art share is extra magnificent I'm especially drawn to the moonlit lake surrounded by the forest trees, a truly magical work of art with great eye for detail, your so talented.
Pasta bake is one of my go to comfort foods, makes my tummy rumble.

Your artwork is so beautiful. I really love the spring tree in bloom. I think this is the first time for me to see this one. Is it a new painting? Mmm, your dinner looks yummy! I'm super sorry for not making it over often to visit this month but between the A2Z challenge and just life happening then I've been really covered up. Thanks for your visits. Have a doodletastic day!

Hello, Nicole! First, before I forget, thank you for coming over to visit me at Marmelade Gypsy from Rain's. (I didn't realize you could do ANY art, so I'm glad you shared this here -- I must have missed it!). Your birthday sounds lovely and so does that garden bed. I'm very intrigued by your magic molasses mix for the plants! And your dinner looks divine! I'm so impressed with your beautiful art and dynamic use of color! I think I might just have to follow along!

Beautiful art, Nicole! And thanks for the plant remedy which I wrote down. I'm always repurposing leftovers. Yours look delicious. Have a happy weekend and good luck with your sick plants.

Your art is amazing, Nicole. Each of these pieces are so beautiful, but I particularly like the river/lake moonshine scene. I hope your plants will bounce back from the freeze and I will save the recipe of your remedy. The elevated planting box sounds like its great for working more upright and not do all that beding that we usually do in our gardens. Lovely dinner as well - very similar to meals that I make of leftovers.

You have some eerie yet beautiful branches to share ... and some gray squash leaves as well. Your recipe for plant doctoring is a new one on me ... I think I may have to try it this year if the need arises. Who would have thought milk and molasses could cure a plants ills. You dinner is quite tempting ... need to know what kind of sauce you started with them I might be in a position to recreate a disg of my own. You are always fun to visit ... Glad you had a wonderful Birthday and hope you have many more. Getting old can be a pain, but years of knowledge and experience would say it is worth while. Stay well and I look forward to seeing your raised garden :)

I love your trees Sis...and you know I'm always a huge fan of your black and whites! Thanks for the nice promotion for TAD! I hope people join in for the fun! ☺ Oh...that magick elixir for the plants, please let me know if it works! I wonder if I could use that for some of my little tree saplings that I transplanted last fall? The pines are looking a little yellow. Your dinner looks fab!!! ☺♥
