Hi Everyone!
This is TAD and Rain's theme is Fond Memories.
I had a few directions to go with this theme. However, I went with my Mom. Sarah (Sally) Bee. Born on April 24th and a few days after her 21st birthday I was born. April 27. I can't tell you how much I miss her. She was the reason we moved to Oregon to help her and my Nan. Of course both gone now. I miss spending our birthdays together. What can I tell you about my Mom. She was the strongest, boldest, most inventive, beautiful woman I have ever known. I didn't realize some of this until I was much older. The things my Mom had to endure would put most women under. Not my Mom though. She was an excellent artists and always encourage her 6 kids to create in anyway we could. BTW, I am the oldest. We had the mother daughter disagreements that all mothers and daughters have, but we always made up and we knew we loved one another. As I mentioned, Mom had 6 kids and not a very good provider for a husband. They divorced in 1960 and for women back then it was a disgrace. My Mom to people to go to hell. She went back to college got her RN degree and proved to other women they didn't have to stay in an abusive relationship. That women had rights too. Well not many in those days.
So here is to my Mom.
Ohh see all of that hair? It comes from my great grandmother and it has stayed through the generations. LOL

Those are great photos of your mom Nicole. I can see her in your face, and you in hers. It's tough to appreciate Mom's until we step into their shoes, isn't it?
...I've had many strong women in my life.

What a fascinating story and a loving tribute to your mother. Brave and fearless. I would have liked her. She truly was a beauty and so are you.
Wonderful photos, you were lucky to have such a strong mother and a wonderful family. Valerie
It's great to have such fond memories to draw on.
You and your Mom and your daughter and your Nan are beautiful. Oh how I admire the strength of the women who have stood up for their own rights and our rights and yes, I too hate what is happening (Roe Vs Wade) in our Supreme Court and in our politics and in our country. It is a sad time and I am almost glad my parents are alive to see what is happening. You were blessed to have been raised by such a women and it shows in who you are. Beautiful post, Nicole ...
