Greetings!
Well today I am 70. Yeah I hate it. Mr. M. got me something I have wanted for a long time. An emulsion blender. It was on sale and it's a nutribullet so I can't go wrong with that.

You will need, 1/4 C Aquafaba, 2 t sugar, 1/4 t salt, 2t vinegar, 3/4 C vegetable oil, a tiny pinch of turmeric, a jar or container to mix in. Add all ingredients except oil into container and blend until thickened. Slowly drizzle the oil while blending. When all of the oil is in keep blending until thick. It will get even thicker as it sets in the fridge. Now, for me this recipe is too sweet and tastes more like a salad dressing, (which I don't use) or Miracle Whip (which I really don't use) Because of the sweetness I am going to use this to make cookies. I will show you next week. When I make this again I will leave out the sugar. I will say that it is easy, fun and takes no time at all. |

Big gratulations dear Nicole 💗💐
ReplyDeleteDelicious post, indeed.
Happy birthday 🌹
Happy three score years and ten!
ReplyDelete...Happy Birthday, I enjoyed this milestone a while ago.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Nicole! Remember age is just a number. (OK easier written than done for some people). I think its fun your husband made you that cake-it looks yummy- and got you such a nice gift. Have fun whipping up vegan mayo. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Nicole! I've heard of aquafaba and am interested in your experience of creating and using it!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Nicole! Good food you and hubby made today!
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy birthday! What a sweet surprise from the hubby. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Sis! ♥♥♥ What a nice gift! I have one of those too, but it's a cheapie one, still does the job. I've made mayo with it too, it is amazing for that. I just use olive oil, egg and salt and that's it and it's pretty darn good! I love that hubby used his finger to spell out happy 70 lol...I'm assuming! ☺
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and how special that your husband made you a cake-love that-hugs. When I turned 70 a few years ago I really freaked out about it-and age never really meant much to me before, but 70 did I got over it though.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this about how to use the chick pea water in replace eggs-I need to check this out more so interesting. thanks so much for introducing this again and sharing on Food Wednesdays
What a beautiful chocolate cake! It's a nice surprise. Happy birthday, Nicole :-)
ReplyDeleteMy immersion blender died after decades of use, but I never did replace it. Congrats on a great choice!
ReplyDeleteI came to terms with aging when I was 35 and found out I was no longer considered a "young adult" for church programming purposes lol Middle-aged at 35? I embraced it, then joined the ranks of seniors when I got my first AARP solicitation. Aging beats the alternative ;) Enjoy your day :)
Happy birthday Nicole! Your cake looks wonderful! Valerie
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t live without my blender, they are so useful. Your cake looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I hope it is great. Your cake looks good. My grandmother used to make her own mayo, too. I never knew how she made it, but I am sure she used eggs. I have an immersion blender, but I use mine when I make lye soap. I never use it for food now. Yours looks wonderful, especially with the attachment. Enjoy your special day.
ReplyDeleteWow! Happy Birthday and what a hubby ~ great gift and that cake is amazing ~ Xo
