Movie Monday

 Hello and Happy Monday Everyone!

Today is Movie Monday and I am so happy to share one of my truly all time favorite movies. I am surprised I don't own this one, but I don't. The last few weeks I have been looking for it. A place to stream it for free. Today, Sunday, I turned on my Roku channel and went through the new movies this month. OMG! There it was,
The Painted Veil with Edward Norton and Naomi Watts, Toby Brown and Leiv Schreiber.
It is a twisted love story that all actors play beautifully.
Based on the classic novel by W. Somerset Maugham, "The Painted Veil" is a love story set in the 1920s that tells the story of a young English couple, Walter, a middle class doctor and Kitty, an upper-class woman, who get married for the wrong reasons and relocate to Shanghai, where she falls in love with someone else. When he uncovers her infidelity, in an act of vengeance, he accepts a job in a remote village in China ravaged by a deadly epidemic, and takes her along. Their journey brings meaning to their relationship and gives them purpose in one of the most remote and beautiful places on earth.
If you have a chance to watch this please do. The music is beautiful. Like I said, one of my favorites all around.

Have  a nice Monday.

Nicole

I looked it up because I knew I had seen this one--rented the DVD from Netflix in 2007 and gave it five stars! Yes--a good one. :)

Somerset Maugham's characters are always a little twisted.

I am a great admirer of Somerset Maugham. "Of Human Bondage" is one of the great works of English literature.
