Hi Everyone!
Today is Friday Face Off. A fun challenge that I am doing with
Barbara over at Artistic Living
The face I made this week is going to go onto a piece of Maple wood. In fact, several faces are going on the wood to make a wall hanging. I will show it when it is finished.
The colors are a bit different in real life.
Taking photos with my hands full of clay is difficult and working with air dry clay I have to work a bit faster than with polymer. Plus I get on a roll and forget to take photos.
To this point, I shaped the face, cut out a piece, marked out features, placed in the eyes and mad a brow. |
Shaping in the nose area. |
Smoothing the clay. |
Using a ball stylus to shape in nostrils. |
These are soft tip shapers. I also have another set that I use for pastels and powdered graphite. |
These are ball syluses. Good for making dents and shaping. Not sure what the plural is for sylus. LOL |
Shaping in the mouth. |
I have placed in the horns and put a big mole on the chin. |
Finished.
|
Another view. |
Wishing you a good day today.
Nicole

...it's so smiley!
He's a spooky looking guy.
Fantastic face Nicole. The glass eyes really pop and make it look like it is looking back at us. Happy Friday, hugs-Erika
Wow-seeing the process is fascinating.
Your creative process is fascinating. Too bad you don't have someone to take the photos while you work.

I love how strikingly expressive your faces are--those eyes, the set of the mouth! It is always wonderful to see your creations.
I hope you are having a very good weekend.
Very expressive face ...
Enjoy the remainder of Friday and have a good weekend.
All the best Jan
Looks so pensive and sad to me. Interesting face. I like seeing the steps. :)
Wow, thank you also for showing some of the tools - I´m looking forward to see the whole bunch.
Great faces, especially with those eyes :-)
To a great weekend!
Rather devilish today, Nicole. I have a couple of those ball styluses. I use mine in paper craft.
The face looks like a gnarled old tree come alive in a fairy tale!
Bom dia. Desejo um ótimo sábado com muita paz e saúde.
I cannot express how much I love this. You are brilliant in your creative faces.
It really seems a wooden face, considering its particular combination of colours, shape and expression. Congrats on your creativity, Nicole! Thank yoh for showing your tools.
Have a nice weekend!
