T Tuesday and 29 faces

 Hi Everyone!

I am so late. It is 29° out and for some reason I was too cold to get and slept in.
Yesterday, I went through some storage boxes looking for something in particular. I did find it and I also found a few items I haven't seen in a while. Years ago when I still beaded for part of my income I made a series of Huichol beaded items. Here is one I kept for myself.
In another post I will talk about my connection to the Huichol tribes of Mexico.

I also got 8 pints of chicken canned.
If you have never had home canned chicken, then you are missing out. It is delicious and can be made into so many different meals.
I wanted to draw yesterday and started with a 5 minute warm up. OMG! what a mess she is but this will serve as my 22 face for 29 faces.
As an artist one must show the good and the bad. ha ha ha
She looks like an alien, oh but that is kind of my thing right. :)

Stop over at BY EAGHL for more 29 faces.
Here is my ticket into the T party.
The first cup of the day.

To close this off I want to let people know that when I blog I try to be positive. Yes, you will read my complaints and aches and pains, but I do try to look for happy things to post.
I am here to tell you that I am not always happy, I get depressed, anxious, worried and sometimes a bit scared. (Especially with loosing my income.) Sometimes that dark, warm place of depression can feel really good. However, we as humans have to look past the dark to the lighter parts of life. My mom always told me to pick myself up by my bootstraps and get on with it. To find something any little thing to see some joy, some happiness. We have all been through a lot in the last 2 years and as we continue through this madness there are some wonders. Find yours, then share it.
Mine? All of you!

Have a great day!

Nicole

I hope you cheer up soon, and feel better about all the things that are going wrong with you and the whole world. I see that it's hard to stay upbeat!

I will look forward to what you write about the beading traditions.

Your Huichol basket is gorgeous. I look forward to reading about it. And I don't think she's all that bad, just a quick start. Have a great T day. hugs-Erika

That is a really beautiful beaded bowl. Your canning always amazes me- you do so much of it! I imagine you have one very large space for all your fabulous handmade canned foods;)
I think as humans we all have our ups and downs though for some the downs are more pronounced and difficult to get through. Having support of some kind is everything.
Wishing you brighter days, and a happy T day too!

I love the beaded pieces, so wonderfully intricate. I've never canned chicken. I might try it some day, I bet I would love the texture. Your note on your sketch made me giggle (thanks for that). On the subject of sharing bright things, even though we all experience darkness (especially these last few years), I'm right there with you. Also, like you, I acknowledge the dark... but choose to focus on the good things (even if they are tiny). Blogging--and sharing the world with people like yourself--is one of those seemingly small things that mean the world to me. So thank you for being!

That yellow fiesta-ware mug would bring some cheer to my world. I eat canned chicken but have never canned it myself.

Happy T Tuesday

I love your bead working, it's exquisite. Your "alien" comment on your sketch made me laugh.
We are humans and that meand we have both ups and downs. I also prefer looking at the bright side of things, but sometimes this can be really hard. We can acknowledge that there is both in us, light and dark, and there are times when one or the other dominates. I wish you that the light will become stronger.

Wow, the beading is amazing - I love it! Your sketch is fabulous too, you're a wonderful artist 😁. The canned chicken looks good too. I commend you for your positivity, it's important to look for those silver linings. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs Jo x

Your beaded bowl is stunning! I love the colors and the patterns. Your sketch looks great. Yes, not every piece of art is a work of art but that is how we get better.
I always enjoy seeing your canned goods. It is such an inspiration.
Loving your outlook to look to the positives. We all wallow in our pain and disappointment at some point and there is a place for that but being able to move past that when the time is right is key. Your mother said it perfectly.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

Nicole, lovely bead work, and great locking canned chicken. Your sketch looks great to me - you are good at faces. Happy T-day!

I hear you on the depression and the worry on the loss of income. This life is hard and we all have soo much to do, worry about, and deal with. Very brave of you to tell us your thoughts. Many hugz to you!

I have a bookmark from South Africa and it´s too precious to use it hangs on my board on display.
If my friend (from Perth) knew she would tell me off ;-)
Canned chicken?
Oh! I took part at Kathy´s, thanks to your reminder! And thank you. Three years ago a fried egg woul´ve been tops Ii could manage. Your compliment is very, very much appreciated!

No. no alien! No, really.
I "found" coal pencils and maybe will try, too (will I share? Those might be aliens indeed!).
To positive things - we are humans. Let´s sahre and help each other - no matter what.

Love the beadwork. I had to laugh when you mentioned looking for something specific in some storage containers, because I have been there for sure! But sometimes not very successfully haha. All my storage containers are currently in the downstairs rooms while I sort out the upstairs and I am dreading sorting through them as I know I must, but maybe I will rediscover some cool things I'd forgotten about (and then of course want to keep them haha). The last two years have been hard for sure, but I try to find positives too, doesn't always work but keep trying. Happy T Day Elle/EOTC xx

That beaded basket is gorgeous. I look forward to learning more about it and the people that make them.
The canned chicken looks delicious. I have never had canned chicken (or made it). It's one way of keeping your freezer emptier.
I've had depression many years ago. But I got out of it. Whenever I feel it rearing its ugly head I concentrate on positive things and find things to be thankful for, things of beauty (like in nature),nice things to look forward to. I join a blog group on Friday called Friday Smiles that concentrate on the positive things in life. (https://wipso-astitchintime.blogspot.com/2022/02/this-weeks-smilesweek-460.html)
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,

I've always been impressed with your beadwork, Nicole. This is amazing and beautiful. So intricate and detailed.

I am no longer eating chicken, beef, or pork. However, I am always impressed by your canning skills.

I don't think your face looks alien at all. I'm so slow, it would take me five minutes just to find pencil and paper. I'm truly in awe.

Your coffee looks great, especially in this cold. Actually, you are having a heatwave compared to Bleubeard, Squiggles, and me. Wednesday morning it was 7 degrees F with feels like temp of -18 F. Yes, negative 18 F at 8 a.m.. No wonder we are all sick. Thanks for sharing your beadwork, your canned chicken, your face, and your coffee with us for T this week, dear.

BTW, I can't imagine anyone not being depressed at times, especially with what you have faced. But you apparently have a loving husband and a huge following on the world wide web. You can definitely count your blessings, and I know you do a lot.

Love the beading. I would love to try that chicken but we really don't have enough space to store it. Your portrait is great - I did a double take - 5 minutes - brilliant!!! I hope you can always find some joy in your day- even though on dark days you may have to look harder when you least feel like it! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
