Day 20 for 29 Faces

 Good Sunday Morning.

Wow it's day 20 already. This month is flying by. I had to go to the grocery store yesterday. As you know I go very early to avoid as many people as I can. Now I am NOT a fan of self checkout, for several reasons. However, there were no people there so I thought I would try it. Ohhh, Yeahhhh... I hate it! LOL I had meat that had 30% tag on it and well that can't be used at our self checkout, the computer didn't take my store card so my discounts were not deducted and the darn thing turned off while I was trying to get food into my bags. Thank goodness the workers know me and I was refunded the $34.00 saving and the 30% saving. The customer service didn't open for 30 minutes but they opened early for me. I won't be using the self checkout again.

Now for 29 faces. Here is another 6" spirit doll to hang on the wall. I received an email asking what I am dong with all of these dolls. They are all for sale and will be part of an art show in April.
Here she is, with more beautiful wool hair.

The other day, when the sun was out I made a makeshift greenhouse. This is for putting my seedling in during the day if the sun is out. Today is rain and wind so they will stay inside. But the daily outing for the plants have been very good for them. It's actually call, hardening. Here are peas and pinto beans. I had to restart the black beans.

Imagine, in a few short months these plants will be providing food for us. Are you growing a garden this year?

If you want to see some great art stop over at BY EAGHL and be sure to leave her a comment.
Have a great day!

Nicole

I refuse to use self-checkout too! With all the gazillion bucks these grocery and other stores like Walmart make, they can afford to pay some poor schlub minimum wage to staff their checkout lines.

I love these small-wall spirit dolls Nicole. Yours counts for another face. I’m still working on my first one, almost ready. 😂

I am amazed that you have such problems with self-checkout. I never use anything else and have not encountered issues.

I hate that when they went in 5 people lost their jobs in the Safeway/Albertsons store here. Plus I just like the service of going through the check out.

You already have peas and beans plants. That's great! You can do it in February because of the greenhouse.
I like the doll :-)
Enjoy the rest of this Sunday!

Lovely collection of your dolls. Wonderful that gardening season is just around the corner. I just enjoy my flowers coming up.

Your spirit doll is wonderful and goes well with the one you shared yesterday.

We have snow here, so I am not even thinking about planting anything yet. Guess I should, though.

I'm not a fan of self checkout, I like to talk to the customer assistants, they are usually very friendly and helpful.

Your dolls look good.

All the best Jan

Nice faces and the spirit dolls you created with them. And those self check outs can be a pain in the you know where. I went to one store last week that has only 1 non-self service check outs, and one of my items wouldn't scan through, even for the store worker who helped me. But what are you going to do? Have a great start to the new week. hugs-Erika

See... see?! That is why I hate self check-out, they make "funny" rules!
At one store here you have to put everything in a box "for weighing" (?!) and you need your receipt to get out, too, what is that?!!!
Another customer helped me out as the staff stood BEHIND me.

Oh! I look forward to your art show, will you share? I still have a parcel for a friend in your country and cannot send it due to COVID restrictions.
Us small private persons, d'oh...

Yay to your plants! Hm. Not a green thumb here... And just a small balcony.

I do tend to use the self-checkout but I feel your pain when it goes wrong which it often does lol. I just find it much quicker (usually) and less lifting of heavy bags in and out of trolleys etc. Undecided on the garden as yet, depends on a few things here, sorry for my lateness, it's been quite the week Happy belated T Day Elle/EOTC xx

I always have trouble with the self-checkout. It _sounds_ easy enough but never is.

ooo, you've already got veggies well started. Nice!

You look fantastic - the use of that fabric is perfect and I love how you made it work with (potentially) short yardage. Very inspiring blend of skill and talent!
