Paint Party Friday Experimenting

 Happy Paint Party Friday Everyone!

I am running late for PPF and I really don't have much to show. I have been experimenting with some fabric to paint on. In my on line Beadwright store I sell a microfiber called Novasuede.
Majilite Corporation is known for a stunning array of faux leather microfiber products including Novasuede™ This high-performance luxury material provides superb comfort and excellent durability. Easy to clean and feels like soft leather. Novasuede has a slight stretch which is perfect to create with.

Anyway I sell it mostly to beaders to finish the final step to backing beadwork and other multimedia art.
Most of you know I already paint on leather and so I wanted to see how Novasuede would take acrylic paints. OMG! I wish I would have thought of this sooner. It is excellent!
Soft, movable but sturdy. It really does feel like a leather.

This example is with the Novasuede dry.
Paint blends well

This peace I very lightly spayed with a bit of water.
and the blending is even better. The water doesn't soak into the Novasuede. Also I don't normally use water with acrylics so my next step is to test a flow medium.
When dried the Novasuede is still soft on the backside with no paint seeping through, so this microfabric acts like canvas does. I have some stretch frames so I will be constructing those and adding the Novasuede.

And some of this weeks art.

Have a great day and be sure to stop by PPF to see what all of the other artist have created.

It's interesting to read about your experiments. How about the price of Novasuede? Sold by meter or ready cut pieces?
Happy PPF!
