Good Morning!
Today is Garden Saturday and before I show you what the harvest is, I want to tell you about the weather here. I receive comments about how sunny it is here, and what good weather we have. NOT!!!!
Summers SUCK on the Oregon coast. Continual rain from the winter, the more than angry winds coming off the Pacific ocean, and never warm enough to put on a pair of shorts. A marine layers comes in everyday to bring more cold, foggy, mist and cover the sun. We may get a few nice days and then the crap weather returns. We laugh at the tourists who come here thinking they will sit on the beach and enjoy the day. Not so here. You need arctic gear to visit our beaches. Again, once in awhile there are a few sunny days but never warm. However, don't come here and expect to put up your umbrella and have a picnic on our beaches.
The bowl of lettuce at top is a 10 quart bowl. 3 types of lettuce, carrots, peas, mint, oregano, dill and squash. |
This is Mexican Grey Squash. It's my fave. |
Look at these beauties. |
Mr. M. suggested I get a real dehydrator. It works so much better than my oven. |
And the flowers are finally starting to bloom |

Freshly picked garden peas sound like a real treat. I would eat them right out of the pod -- no cooking needed. Good luck with the weather.

In spite of the bad weather you have grown a wonderful selection of veggies and salad - enjoy! Valerie
Oh yes, I have a few Mexican Grey Squash at the moment as well. 💚 Sad to hear your Summers aren't really all that sunny & shiny! 😏 Lovely flowers, though! 🧡💗
sorry about the weather but love the harvest of fresh veggies
I think my first "view" of Seattle came from the Here Come the Brides tv show: "The bluest skies you've ever seen in Seattle..." Not so much, I guess :(
Beautiful pees! Congrats on such harvest of fresh veggies, Nicole! I hope the weather will be sunny soon 😎
Have a nice Sunday!
I had no idea about your weather. It does sound rather awful-but I love how you have such a productive garden! Good for you-you are an inspiration to just keep on, no matter what! Thanks :)
I can't even get my tomato to grow, so you have a lovely harvest. It's windy here, too, but it's also quite dry. You have an abundance of goodies, and your flowers are stunning.
I saw Diver's and Sundry's comment. I was in Seattle for FIVE days and the sun shone every day. Nary a raindrop, period. As I was driving out of town, the storm clouds opened up and I saw what I had obviously missed in those five glorious days one year in April.
I didn't realise how adverse your weather conditions can be!
I think your garden flowers and produce are looking good.
All the best Jan
Seattle has similar weather but I live 350 miles away from Seattle.

Mind blowing post
I had to laugh at our tourists this weekend because we had such freezing winds but they said they would go to the beach almost naked and then freeze and wonder. Every day the weather changes and every day you have to plan with what to wear. I grin inside and think it's my own fault.
For you, that's extreme the weather. It's good that you explained that again.
I am all the more pleased how you struggle with your garden and fix everything and try to make the impossible possible. I wish you a good harvest every day.Hugs-Elke
You have a great garden Nicole
Wow ! I am drooling over those harvest, that is one pretty lupine flower. Thanks for sharing with Garden Affair.
Everything is looking amazing Nicole! Keep going through that weather!!! Actually weather, I think I might enjoy! LOL! Big Hugs!
