Greetings!
I hope all of you had a great weekend. I was busy here with a special order, speaking with my family, and playing in the garden aaannndddd.... watching a few movies to share with you. I was happy to find one of my all time faves from my early days. I was 20 when I first saw this movie and enjoyed it as much now as then. I watched it on TCM and in fact they have featured it a few times this year.
I will tell you it is not for the faint of heart. So my none scary movie waters may not want to try this one.
"The Other"
After their father dies, young twin brothers Holland (Martin
Udvarnoky) and Niles (Chris Udvarnoky) spend their summer playing around
the farm, while their mother (Diana Muldaur) hides in mourning. Holland
is the more mischievous of the two, while Niles is shy and quiet. Their
grandmother, Ada (Uta Hagen), has taught Niles how to project himself
into other people and animals as a harmless game. But when a series of
deadly tragedies strike the family and friends, only Ada suspects the
truth.
It is a true psychological thriller.
The second movie I watch was an amazing story of a young girl that, after an accident, didn't age. This movie is so well told and filmed that I have actually watched it twice.
Blake Lively plays this part with excellence. As do the rest of the cast. Michiel Huisman, Harrison Ford, and Ellen Burstyn to name a few of the outstanding cast.
Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively) has miraculously remained a youthful
29 years of age for nearly eight decades, never allowing herself to get
close to anyone lest they discover her secret. However, a chance
encounter with a charismatic philanthropist named Ellis Jones (Michiel
Huisman) reawakens Adaline's long-suppressed
passion for life and romance. When a weekend with Ellis' parents
threatens to expose the truth, Adaline makes a decision that changes her
life forever.
I highly recommend both of these films and hope you enjoy them.
Have a great day today!

I remember watching "The Age of Adeline" but it didn't make much of an impression on me, alas.
Boa tarde Nicole. Obrigado pela maravilhosa dica. Boa semana.
Glad you enjoyed your movies. Have a great week, stay safe! Valerie
...I hope that you are enjoying a good day.
Nicole,
I'm 99% sure we've seen "The Age of Adeline". I believe we liked it, too. "The Other" we haven't watched. I'm not sure I'd enjoy it because it has a child doing weird, scary stuff. Thanks for the movie reviews, my friend. Have a good week!
I'm glad you enjoyed the movie, I'm a scaredy cat so... I'm loving your abstract tree painting too.
The Other doesn't sound like my kind of movie but I might try The Age of Adaline. Reminds me of a Tv show with a guy in it who didn't age but I can't think of the name of it right now. Senior moment. Fascinating concept. Hope you are having a restful day.
Pleased you enjoyed the movies.
Enjoy this last day of May.
Happy Wishes for June.
All the best Jan
I've not heard of either of these, but I usually like psychological thrillers. Not sure about this one, though. I hope your weekend was pleasant.
Hey Nicole 🙂 Not familar with the first one, but The Age Of Adaline... 😏 Watched it more than just once. So good! 👏🏻 Great story, great movie and of course, Blake Lively was wonderfully casted, and acted well too. 👍🏻
Sounds interesting! Sadly the second one must be that scary it´s "unavailable" in Germany...
I will begin to look for both of these movies. I watch a lot on TCM. Have you seen THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW on Netflix. It is very good.
I read The Other before seeing the movie, and both are good. I haven't heard of The Age of Adeline but will check it out. Thanks!
Never heard of them! Thanks for sharing Nicole! Big Hugs!
