Saturday Post

Hi Everyone!

I hope your weekend is going well. All is good here.
Friday I had my last follow up for my eye surgeries. Everything is fine and except for readers I no long need glasses. Well, I haven't worn them since the first surgeon made me half blind in my right eye. That will always be there so no peripheral on the side.  The eye doc is in Eugene so a ride over, see the doc and straight home. Some of the largest numbers of covid are in Eugene here in Oregon, so we don't stay there long.
Saturday I went grocery shopping. 6AM, other than the workers I am the only one in the store. I get everything I need, come home, sterilize and put the groceries away and realize I forgot milk. REALLY?
We will just have to be out
of milk until the next time I go to the store. LOL
Most of you know that I don't celebrate christmas. Just a personal choice.
My kids still send me gifts though and today
I got these beauties from my daughter.
They feel like heaven on my lupus feet.
Fleece all the way to the toes.

I also made chicken soup with christmas lima beans that I grew in my garden. I have never eaten them before and OMG! are they ever good. They have a sweet taste, very different from green lima beans.

This is what they look like fresh out of the pod

I also made some granola. I'm sorry I can't give you the
measurments because I just throw things together and bake it.
This batch has rolled oat (not instant) chocolate chips, peanuts,
almonds, raisins, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, peanut butter,
honey, molasses, coconut oil, cinnamon and cardamom. Place on
parchment paper cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
Once cooled add coconut flakes. Next time I make this I will try to
take measurements for you.
Thi is ready for the oven
and this is ready to eat.
Well, that is it for now

Be Safe Out There And Wear A Mask.

I just had to laugh because my darling and I also wear them. Yes, but they are also nice and warm, that was a nice idea from the daughter. Good news that everything is fine and reading glasses are ok.
This chicken soup with the beans in it is delicious.
I wish you a nice evening and all the best and next time don't forget the milk, hug Elke

Those socks are beauties! And I always seem to forget something when I shop too. And it has to wait until the next morning trip! This time it was tomatoes.
