Hi Everyone!
I am a dill-oholic. I can justify putting dill on almost any food. I even put it in my baked goods at times. So when I started my garden, (it's my first garden.) I planted some dill. (Everything in my garden was started from seed.) Yesterday, I was able to harvest some of the dill. OOOhhh yeaaahhhh... I don't have a dehydrator per say.... I have a dehydrating setting on my air frying machine but it really doesn't work that well. On my oven I have a warm/hold setting and with that I have dehydrated dill, thyme, and mint. I don't like doing that because my over eats up the electric. I guess I will have to save some money to get a real dehydrated.
My house smells sooo darn good.

I allow my dill to dry naturally, Nicole. I like fresh dill, too. I put it on a lot of things, just like you. Do you ever make dill butter? I make it all the time and spread it on bread and baked potatoes. I soften a quarter lb. of butter (NEVER margarine). Once soft, I add lots and lots of dill to the butter. If I'm lucky, I let it harden again, but most of the time I can't wait and use it on something I've cooked.
Yum! I love dill! Just tie it up in a bunch and hang it in a dry and warm place without direct sunlight. That's what I do. Works fine. You can also chop and put in the freezer.
I love dill on new little baby potatoes, boiled with butter. Yummmmm.
I'm crazy about dill too. I also hang mine-so it's not in sun, or it will bleach out the color. It doesn't take long to dry. Be sure to pick it when the plant is not wet from dew or rain. You probably knew that! :)
Oh congrats on your dill harvest! I'm the same way with basil and oregano! :)
Not tried growing dill, might have a go. So glad you are finding such joy in your garden.
Yay! I'm a dill lover, too, though not quite as fanatical as you are. I'd never tasted it until my friend put some on fish when I ate at their house...I was hoooked. Good for you. I wonder if it would grow over here? Probably not... I can't even get my sourdough starter to work properly because it isn't warm enough :-( But I like where I am, apart from the weather, lol.
Happy Tuesday!

I only know it for seafood! (Which I don´t like much).
Mmmmm! Home grown herbs are the best. Enjoy!
