Hi Everyone!
I
am one who likes change when I am in charge of the changes. Other wise
don't mess with my routine. It you have an Etsy store, you know that
over the last few years they have had several CEOs that have made
changes NOT conducive to the hand crafted artist or supply seller. That
is how Etsy started and made their money, however, that was all changed
several years ago allowing big business to come in and sell. Ya know
corporate greed. Then, other small changes and this year huge changes.
Especially changing the algorithm of how people can find you on Etsy. It
leans all towards the big sellers. Of course then they put in Etsy
Studio, another harmful addition for sellers. Personally my sales on any
given day have dropped 85 to 100%, and it is SO VERY NICE of Etsy to
show me those facts right on my dashboard. A few months ago I reopened
my Beadwright website and the other
day closed my Beadwright Etsy store. I actually put it on vacation mode
with a note directing people to my website. Ya know, if anyone is even
going there. LOL Sooooo I said all of that to say that working my
website again has taken all of my time and I didn't have much art this
week. I have these hand painted cabs and this silly box that I have
fallen in love with and have filled with personal goodies.
These smaller 25x25mm cabs are a bit more
difficult to paint than the larger ovals.
Now for silly, just to show people they can make ANYTHINGfor my Sparkle Cab contest.
A big thanks to Eva and Kristen for hosting Paint Party Friday and to all the artists who share each week. Looking forward to seeing what you created.

That really sucks! I've never been able to figure out Etsy, so I prefer to market towards my own website. I love your pieces though! Happy PPF!
Beautiful pieces. Good luck with your store. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie
Great projects
Oh boy, I couldn't agree more with you - big companies or marketing have destroyed originally for 'us' created ideas like twitter, airbnb...when money talks 'we' are forgotten and are more like a target not for networking with other people (in good way). Now companies, investors buy flats and rent them in airbnb and 'we' don't know anymore who we're supporting, paying...
Nice to beck from a loooong summmer holiday. Let the autumn come! :)
Just started ed an etsy shop....s sad to hear it sucks....lovely swishy work btw...xx
Your cabs are lovely and that little box is so cute. Setting up a website does take time.
Your store website looks great and I hope things go well for you with your own website sales. The painted cabs are beautiful! I've been on Etsy for years too and the changes they have made are just awful for us regular sellers. My sales have also dropped a good 50% - 75% with all of their testing and changes. I used to make great money there, not so much lately.
Your painted cabs are really gorgeous, Nicole. The colors are awesome.
Lovely and elegant painted cabs and fun box so creative ~ ^_^

ps. ~ Have not done anything with Etsy ~ for several months ~ not amores with it at all
I'm just blown away today, luv them all. Happy PPF Nicole
much love...
Love your pieces so much.
I adore your beautiful cabs. Lovely colors this time.
Good luck for your new web site 👍
Happy PPF!❣
Such beautiful pieces! Good luck with the store Nicole!
Oh, don't get me started on Etsy .... I was really disgusted with their changes a couple of years ago. Views of my shop dropped dramatically in a couple months' time. I gave it one last shot at the end of 2015 and then I stopped. Didn't close it but I'm not listing anything anymore. Too bad, it was a really great site. But it's impossible nowadays to compete with the big sellers. Good of you to start selling from your own site. It takes a lot of work, but at least the rules don't change all the time. And it's looking great! Did you do it all yourself? Your cabs are so beautiful ....
You are so right about corporate greed ... it is infused into every aspect of our lives. And we thought we lived in a democracy, Ha! I love your silly little box. So clever and even love the colors. Hang in there, Nicole, maybe the pendulum will swing back and the thoughtful people will take over again ... we can only hope :)

Lovely cabs, awful to learn what Etsy's doing these days.
Etsy has changed so much, and not for the better :/ I keep meaning to open a store n my site but haven't gotten around to it yet
Beautiful work Nicole and great new website!! I did read a whole long article on etsy and it's unfair sellers or marked up wholesale products. Sad, always someone there to take advantage of a good thing!!
Peace Giggles
Those cabs would make wonderful buttons on a Western style shirt. I am so glad I read what you said about Etsy. I have been debating for ages about opening a store. When I got to the part where they wanted my bank information and SS number, I balked although I had already entered some pieces. I hope it is closed and my entries are deleted.
It's a sad commentary on how Etsy, like many others have caved to the almighty corporate dollar. I hope your website will kick ass!
It's sad to hear all the changes on etsy. I have a tiny store that I plan on expanding soon, but I hate that it's hard to do well. Hope your website works better for you!
Such cool artwork Nicole! So fun and creative! Happy PPF :)
it is the usual stuff. The ones that already has a lot gets more. I really hopw your own business will work out fine.
It is the same on Instagram. I opened accounts there a while ago. They always shows me images that already have tons of likes, but rarely any new ones. You have to work hard to be able to see new ones that has not grown in numbers. But are as good.
I've been thinking about Etsy too! I just don't know yet. You have to pay for your web site, right?
Your cabs are amazing! You are brilliant Nicole!
Big Hugs!
I love those shiny cabs!
Thanks for the heads up. . .I am trying Etsy again after being away a long time. Just as soon go back to ebay. Love the cabs. Blessings, Janet
Love your work, I am just in the process of setting up an esty shop.
