PAINT PARTY FRIDAY SEPT 9

Hi Everyone!

Well this has been a week. All good! I am liking all this positive energy and happy things happening. With this ease I am feeling I have been creating art. For me there is a difference of "making" art and "creating art". Does that make sense? Being stressed to the max, worried about the things being thrown my way, and trying to take care of it all, simply lead to "manufacturing art"  Lately I feel like I have the spirit of art back in my soul and now I am creating again.
so I can show you what I am talking about.
Here are some of the faces I am creating every day this month.
These are all graphite.

Do you remember when I wrote saying I wanted to practice drawing hair. Well now I am.

Ears, they have always eluded me.
I found a trick and now I think I am doing much better with them.

Just letting go and letting the pencil guide. uuhhhh it's call no stress........

Learning how the pencil works with shading. Finding the darks and the lights.

Messed up on the eye, no worries, cover it with hair.
Freedom to go with the flow.

Another part of my happiness is meeting every month with the finest ladies in Florence.
Tonight was bead night.
Florence Area Beaders. (FAB) Even though I can no longer bead
I am still very much a part of this group.

Absolutely awesome portraits! The ears are great! On some my eye is drawn to the lips! I adore the hair over the eye! I'd say you created beautifully! I admire your ability with pencil!

I know how you feel drawing with pencil - I just started pencil drawing again...it's been fun but so difficult! but it's more meditative than painting - you're closer, it feels that doing is more intimate...do you agree?
Happy PPF!

Lovely drawing Nicole. You are so right about ears they are very difficult to get right. You have done a great job. Hair too is tough as often it can seem like a hat rather than something that is fluid and part of that person. You have done wonderfully well. Your practice is paying off!

You have come a LONG way Baby! Wow I am sooo impressed with your faces, ears and hair...WOW!! You are a fast learner...It's been such a joy watching you evolve..these faces are sooo amazing!! Yes I totally get letting it happen apposed to forcing it... I find my creativity is less satisfying when it's contrived, whereas letting it flow intuitively produces so much more joy! So happy to see your heart smiling on the page once again!

I love the positive energy flowing all the way through your post and your art. I agree there is a difference and I find that if things are off I find it hard to create anything and, Like you, I have no passion for just manufacturing art - it has to come from the soul. Your faces are fab, I particularly like the first one - her expression is wonderful.

While we talked about your faces last night, NOW........take those individual faces in the last two pics and "cartoon" them. Use the predominating features and make some faces out of them. Just sayin'................ Donna

OMGosh I love the expressions on their faces. . .the ears are fine. Whenever I had issues with the faces, I took the one part I had problems with and went to bed thinking about nothing but drawing that particular part. It took about a week, but I got it. Amazing what we think up to get it right. Blessings, Janet
