Hi Everyone!
Boy! has this been a busy week and the week isn't over yet. I am getting ready for a yard sale..... NEVER AGAIN. LOL Just way too much work. I am also getting ready to show some of my art in the Mind Power Art Gallery for their 25th anniversary. Congratulations to Tamara and Tera.
So I am going to try and take the weekend off. Just relaxing, painting, and watching scary movies. LOL. I know that doesn't sound relaxing but I so enjoy the thrill of it.
A huge thanks to our hosts Eva and Kristin. Every week they put on the best show in town.
Come join in as an artist or visit the extremely talented group that gives us just a taste of the art they create. You will not be disappointed.
I have actually created a few pieces this week, even with all the other things I had to do. However, I am only going to post one painting. I am saving the others for Monday August 4th when I will be posting my answers for Artists Around The World Blog Hop and showing more art. So be sure to come back and find out just a bit more about me.
For now, I started with a black canvas and my beloved shades of red. From there it developed into
My Japanese Dream
I saw something very much like this when I visited Japan.
16x20" canvas painted with acrylics.
Hope you enjoy
I must say that the overcast days made this a very difficult piece to photo.
The colors and depth are quite rich and
the bird has some shadowing that you can't see here.
Still washed out but you get the idea.
Have a great weekend!

Oh wow this is awesome Nicole. You've been really knocking them out of the ballpark. I too was going to join the blog hop but decided against it. Have fun. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteLovely painting and beautiful inspiration. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting, and I love the colours. Have a good weekend, Valerie
ReplyDeleteyou have handled the bamboo so beautifully... I have a wall of it right outside the studio and love the stuff so this really appeals...xx
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful Nicole...a garage sale is a huge pain, people want things for almost nothing and I don't like bartering! I usually donate things instead! All the best with the yard sale and art show!

Love it! It's so Zen! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is truly wonderful, it looks 3D as if the individual images are in a box. It's an intriguing frame of purple, like purple feathers and the whole colour scheme is unusual and so effective.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a window looking into a kind of a dreamworld. I love the contrast between the green and the bright red. Beautiful work. A yard sale .... oh yes, never again! I recognize the feeling ... ;-) I hope you sell lots though, just to make it all worth it :-) Wonderful news about the gallery!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, my friend!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous painting, Nicole! Not sure when you sale is (which I could come, LOL), but Good Luck!

ReplyDeletevery nice...love the dramatic palette you've chosen.
ReplyDeleteThe painting is realistic, unless you really did add the stalks of greenery. Love the bird. . .Yes, I see the shadow. Blessings, Janet PPF
ReplyDeleteAWESOME Nicole!!!!! Love the colors and yes, the dream-like quality!
