PAINT PARTY FRIDAY LEARNING ABSTRACT

Hi Everyone!

Another week gone by and it is time to party. Well party with paint. LOL I had time to do a bit of painting this week and I am really enjoying learning abstract art. I started doing 10 minute warm ups but 10 minutes gives me too much time to "think" so I tried 5 minute warm ups, not enough time to think. 8 minutes works for me. LOL I have prepped many sheets of Nicole's BeadBacking "NBB" to do my warm ups on.  This saves lots of money on canvas. So here are several warm up pieces and a one done on canvas.
Thank you for joining in on my abstract journey. A big thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting Paint Party Friday. So many talented artist from around the world join in to show what they are working on. If you want to get inspired, come see about Paint Party Friday. Maybe you will join in.
Have a great weekend everyone!

It is stormy here today so I couldn't get good lighting on this photo. But you get the idea.

Warm ups

I am so excited that you are painting abstracts. I find myself leaning more and more in that direction (something that surprises me) so it is so much fun to come here and see what you have created. All are wonderful but I am really drawn to the third warm-up.

Your abstracts are looking wonderful! I've tried before and just end up with a big splotchy mess so I always extra admire artists who can make something cool with abstract art. I love that red and blue combo.

I am very intimidated by abstracts. I really like your warm-ups, they look beautiful - great colors. One day when I feel brave I might give it a try.

Abstract art is a whole new world. Love the pieces you've done. People sometimes think that abstract is easier to paint - but not good abstract.

Hi Nicole! I'm so glad you're enjoying abstract. I always feel drawn to it. I love the one in gray tones - very mysterious. If you're into exploring abstract some more, there's a fantastic book - Abstracts 50 Inspirational Projects by Rolina van Vliet. I was just reading my copy last night! You can find it on Amazon. I think you would have a blast with it. Happy painting!

LOVE! These are so colorful SO pretty - and I also love the idea of your daily warm ups. I'm trying to art journal more by getting up earlier and dedicating an hour in the morning to do it - but I love the 8 minutes idea! So funny :) xo
