PROGNOSIS ON MY FOOT UUHHHHGGGG

Hi Everyone!
Well I saw the doctor yesterday. Let me think, I drove round trip 160 miles to spend 2 1/2 minutes with the doctor. Ok 3 1/2. For him to tell me what is wrong with my feet and that he can't handle it and has to refer me to one of his colleagues. Nothing more. (geee think a phone call would have sufficed.) Not how to treat it until I see this other doctor, NOTHING. We in the US know that our medical is the highest form of legal organized crime. There are some good doctors out there but they are caught up in the chaos of the politics of practising. Soooooo now that I have vented about that..... I was so briefly told that I have advanced Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, (RDS). In other words sever nerve damage. Hmmmm for 10 years I have been telling the doctors in 4 different states that my feel hurt ALLLLL of the TIME, including a podiatrist. Each and everyone of them have told me it is due to lupus and to live with it. OK so is RDS associated with lupus or with the Syrinx on my spine. Hmmmmm.... I guess I won't know until Oct 6 when I see the "other" doctor. Do I sound happy??? NOT.... not so much with my feet as with the lack of listening and caring from the medical profession. It is all about getting as many patients in as possible and to set us all up with unnecessary expensive testing, and ohhh let us not forget the prescriptions.    Ooooohhh I think I better go smudge and meditate and calm down. LOL
It is what it is.  However, in doing research on RDS it can occur in any part of your body, mostly limbs though. Feet, legs, arms and hands. I am SOOOOOO beyond thankful that it is in my feet and not my hands. I guess I better get use to that wheel chair. If that is the case I am getting a wham zoomer one. The kind I can do wheelies in.
Thanks for listening my dear friends.

Oh this makes me mad too. They make you come in so they can charge for an office visit or consultation fee when they could have kindly and politely have called you on the phone (or had their secretary or nurse call you) to tell you this. I'm sorry you are having to go through this, I hope you will be able to get some help and relief and avoid that wheel chair all together.

Oh that so sucks! That is not what you needed now! I am sending healing and healthy thoughts your way with all the energy I can muster! I am glad it is not in your hands too. I also wished you lived near me as I have the BEST doctor (he is actually a DO a type of hands on doctor) and he would be so good to you!

Hugs, Blessings and Healing thoughts!

Big HUGS, Nicole. That sucks!
I could tell you so many horror stories and in Canada we are covered for 'most' things. Not all as Insurance companies are wanting to get a piece of the pie here too.
One of the things that bothers me is that I'm getting prescribed things that are not approved for treatment of the actual ailment. Anti-seizure medication for pain? Antidepressants for pain?. Arthritis medication for painful periods? See my point? And all of these are much more expensive than the more addictive drugs that actually treat pain. And then they want to go straight for the organ...hysterectomy! I had one Doctor actually tell me to 'get over it, a lot of people have the same complaints'. And we call these people 'professionals'??? I feel with you. It's so upsetting.

Oh Nicole. I think we all would be better off doing all the research on the internet and then going to the right doctor. Unfortunately most of us have to get referrals from our general practioner. Yes it sucks. Makes me angry too. I hope you start feeling better very soon. You'll be fine, you have faith. Take care.

Sorry Nicole. I was just checking to see if my other comment was posted. I think I lost it or maybe I didn't.

I'm sorry to hear this latest news--I hope the new doctor has a better treatment plan for you. I agree, they could have referred you over the phone instead of making you schlep down there.

I worked in the medical field, and I never, never treated anyone (and neither did my boss)the way patients are treated today.

Nicole.........don't you just want to bill him for the "loss of information" ..he could have told you that over the phone. Doctors can be real asses...I'm sorry,I am an R.N.(retired) and I just hate it when they think that no ones time is as valuable as theirs! The only good thing is you have a doctor thats willing to say he can't "do " it and send you to someone else. Nothing more frustrating than to go for so long without an answer. Took almost 10 yrs to correctly diagnose my Thoracic Outlet Syndrome,,,my chiropractor urged me to pressure my M.D. that it was Thoracic Outlet Syndrome...my,my..finaally went to UCLA where the best in TOS is...yipee..A DIAGNOSIS!!!!!! Hope you get one soon and that you can feel better. :) Ann
