VINCE

Vince update
I phoned Vince earlier and for the first time he broke down crying and telling me how scared he is. A little later my Mom received a call from the hospital...... All previous plans are closed and mom and I are heading out first thing in the morning for the hospital. Mike will again take care of the home front.
Again thank you for all of the wondrous love and caring all of you have showed me and my family. If the angles come to take my brother to go play with my sister.... then it is what is suppose to happen. I will need a few shoulders to cry on.

Hi Everyone!
I have been trying to keep quiet about my brother Vince. I know you all still have him in your thoughts and prayers. As you know Mike and I were to leave on vacation on the 10th. We spend a week in Az every year and this year we were also going to see my daughter in Texas. These plans have been cancelled.
Vince was out of the hospital one day and then had to return. A week or more ago he had his donor kidney removed. Today we found out that is was full of cancer. The doctors just did a scan on Vince to see if there is more. Even if there is he is so week that kemo is out of the question. Mike and I will leave as planned; stop at mom's, leave our dog there and go down to visit with Vince. Then drive back to mom's. Mike will take our dog home and mom and I will drive her car back down to Sacramento. Wow that sounds confusing but not.....
We have not told Nik, Vince's son yet. We want to see what the whole story is. So here is how wonderful my brother Vince is.
My two other brothers Steve and Pat phoned Vince right away. Vince told them both not to tell me or my mom about the cancer until they did another scan on him. Vince said "mom and Nik get too upset." (my brothers call me Nik) So how sweet is he for worrying about me and mom when he is sooooo sick. I feel like I am blabbing on, I guess because I can't stop crying.
Thanks for listening and caring

"Dear" Nicole
This is going to be an even harder time for you than its been. If you feel better posting about your brother, please do, even if its just a few words. We will listen and comment AND send you and your brother the MOST powerful healing energy the Universe can conjure. That, my dear, is what cyber friends are for. I have been wondering how he is, but didn't want to ask. We would like to help, and as we all know, a pray and well wish are tremendous help.
Much love to you, Carol

Nicole, I wish you strength to get through whatever is coming next. Don't feel that you have to keep all of the bad stuff to yourself...we are all here to offer love and support, ears to listen and shoulders to cry on. We are all behind you, don't you forget that!

I pray that the cancer was only in the donor kidney and hasn't spread elsewhere. Please have a safe journey to Vince...

Much love and healing,
B.

We had a house fire so I am already a wreck to begin with, You and Vince have remained in my prayers, but I'll be praying even harder, as I need to for my own sanity. I must say my faith is once again wavering, I Hope God hears my prayers and answers them to the best outcomes for all that I pray for.

I know I have not been posting, but I think of you every day--truly.

Big but gentle hugs for you Nicole, my friend!

Father in heaven, Please hold Vince gently in his arms, strengthen him, comfort him, and give him some peace. I know your arms can hold many lord, and I pray too that you hold all of Nicole's family up in strength and comfort also. Father please show mercy to this family, as to all others on my prayer list, In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

Hang in there Nicole, and know that we are all here for you.
Hugs,
Susan

Nicole, I had deja vue when I read your blog about your brother Vince. I am so sad for you and your family. My family is experiencing the same horrible disease. Within the last two months two of my siblings have been diagnosed with pancreatic and gallbladder cancer.

I found your blog when I purchased your book "Flatwork". When cancer came into my life I needed something to keep me busy. Something challenging. Then bead weaving and bead embroidery
caught my eye and I feel like working with beads again.

Thanks for sharing your story with us. I'll pray for your brother Vince and for you and your family.

My sister is currently in a Hospice Care Facility in Virginia. She is getting wonderful round the clock
care by doctors and nurses, who are all very understanding.
