PAINT PARTY FRIDAY HALLOWEEN WEEKEND

Hi Everyone!!

Did you think I fell of the side of the planet? I know it has been a while but I have been busy and also spent some time with my mom. All things are good there. We were able to visit friends and just had a great time.
I am linking up with Paint Party Friday. Giving Eva and Kristin a big thank you for hosting such a nice event. There are so many nice people who participate not to mention that the art if fantastic. So stop by to see who is creating what. For me I have a few pieces to show you.

This is a desert scene that I am happy to announce sold almost as soon as I finish it. Hurraaayy!!!!
All the stickers I did with the tip of an African Porcupine quill.

This is a 20x16 canvas with a pastel background. Then Nicole's BeadBacking makes up the colorful stained glass look. I really like this piece.
This is an abstract forest with lots of color pastels and acrylics.
Have a happy Halloween (Samhain) and a great weekend

PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PAINT PARTY FRIDAY

Hi Everyone!

Happy Paint Party Friday! I do not have anything new to show right now,  but I do have a piece that Mike made this week. Mike takes great photos and has an in house digital photo studio and developer. A few weeks ago on  our way to Eugene we stopped at the Mapleton post office. While I was inside Mike was taking photos of  a rose. Later when he developed and printed it off, I told him this one needs to be framed. So he made a frame and here is how it came out. The photo is exquisite with a pretty cool detail.

So pretty
 A little closer please
 Cllooooossseeerrrr
Is this the coolest spider?  I love the dew drops too.

Now for something you should all know. I posted this on my blog the other day and if you want to see the complete post click here. I just thought it was worth posting for PPF

Please take a minute to watch the video then write to any on line sites that you belong to that does not support "No Right Click"

Hi Everyone!

Last Halloween I made about 50 of these flying bats and placed them on my front window as if they were swarming. I hung some from the wings and they bobbed up and down when touched. I made these with Midnight Black Nicole's BeadBacking. As I was pulling out my Halloween decorations I thought I would share this pattern and how to make them with you.
If you want a free bat pattern just email me here EMAIL

ART STOLEN SOLD ON WALMART SITE

Hi Everyone!

Most of you know that I have had articles and other copyrighted items stolen from magazine editors and other artists. Dose it anger me? Beyond what you could imagine. For many years I have asked Etsy to please set in place a "no right click" on photos that are displayed by sellers. To date they have refused to accommodate sellers. I am not the only one asking for this. So when I read this article and saw the video I had to share with all of you. The person from Canada who has stolen art work to make a profit from it should be shot. Yes I said shot! It amazes me when people from other countries tell me that copyright doesn't pertain to them because they don't live in the US. That is so far from the truth. Anyway before I go on a tangent please take a few minutes to watch this video. If you are a seller on Etsy, Ebay, Dwanda, Artfire or any other on line site that doesn't support "no right click". Then WRITE to them and ask for it!

LYNN LINDLEY SHIBORI ART

Hi Everyone!

It has been a long week for me. Today I am resting. But before I do I wanted to post some incredible Shibori beading created by my good friend Lynn Lindley. If you follow me you  know that Lynn is an award winning artist. Just looking at her art and you know why.

Along with her years of painting Lynn also took up beading. Her art background lends to some amazing color choices and attention to detail and finished work. Lately Lynn had been struck by the shimmering colors of Shibori ribbon. Here are a few pieces.

So with all that Lynn does in her life she took time to photograph step by step how she creates her amazing pieces. She also wrote in some instructions.
This generous lady sent them to me to post here for you.
Now how nice is this? Please stop by Lynn's blog to leave a comment of thanks and then head over to her web site to see some of her paintings and to learn more about her. She will inspire you no matter what art form you work in.

I DODGED THE SURGERY BULLET SO LET'S PPF!!!

Hi Everyone!

Yaaayyyyy I dodged the eye surgery bullet, for now anyway. I will do some eye meds and other therapies for the next month. Hopefully that will take care of this. I am so excited because the suregery just looks awful. I am one of those people that would rather have a root canal than go to the eye doctor.  I do have an excellent opthomologist, he is  a very cool guy, and hmmm pretty easy on the eyes too. Ha ha no pun intended. LOL Soooo since I have missed several weeks of Paint Party Friday I thought this would be a good celebration. Ohhh speaking of celebrations Mike and I are 33 years together.
OMG!!!! 33 years  went by so fast.  I have lots to be happy and thankful for.
So.... I have a few paintings that I did over the last few weeks. Some I had started and set aside.
You know sometimes that is just needed for a piece.

Here is the one that I set aside about a month ago and finished up the other day. This actually started out with a washed background then applying some yellow paint. As the paint was going on I instantly saw the face. The face looks familiar to me. Like maybe a real person or another image. I promise this just came from my head and through my hands.

I love the way the paint crackled.

Missing my beloved red I did this two canvas abstract that now hangs in my dinning area.

And last in line for tonight is this 18x18" abstract. I wish I could get a better photo of it so you can see the depth of colors in this piece. Looks like flowing lava.

Wishing all of you a great weekend and a huge thanks to Kristen and Eva for hosting Paint Party Friday.
Be sure to visit all of the artist who participate. You will see some amazing art.
