T Stands for Storm

 Greetings!

Ohhh we are in the thick of it. We were warned of King Tides and flooding yesterday and then last night 45 to 50 MPH winds and rain. Yesterday I put my garden jugs and other items under cover and hope they are safe. When the wind blows like this it is deafening.
I am so glad we do not have to go anywhere.
I thought for people who don't know what King Tides are, here is a great video explaining it.

Also this video was taken just up
the road from where I live.

I am joining in with the T Gang over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's. Come by to see what
everyone is up to. For me.  My last cup of coffee. I had NOT has a cup for many years and then for some reason over the last few months started drinking it again. It is just not good for me, so I stopped. With my cuppa is an English muffin with my home made strawberry/apple jam. OMG! I am so glad I learned to can.

  1. Wow. It's going to be harder and harder as people close to coasts suffer more and more.

I drink one cup of coffee in the morning and enjoy that. My days of drinking it throughout the day are over. Water is better for me. The English muffin has me wanting one. I need to amend my grocery list :) Happy T Tuesday!

  3. wow- those videos are something!! I'd love to see even that - at a safe distance of course. But not fun when there's damage.
Nothing like a home made jam-yum. Happy T day!

  6. Thanks for showing us the tides, that’s amazing and frightening! I’m sorry you struggle with that darn Lupus, its a beast of a thing. I’m thinking your back to hot water? I drink hot water most of the time, I made black tea today for change but didn’t go through with drinking it lol,, it’s not a good thing fir me,, I just drink water, or maybe ginger slice in water. My husband drinks tea and coffee, I love the smell and ritual of making both! Stay safe in the storms. ❤️

  12. Oh Wow thank you for sharing the videos. I discovered over the years my body does not like caffeine at all not even a little bit, so when I get a taste for coffee I buy good quality decaf-there is no flavor difference.
canning is awesome-I have always enjoyed it through the years Happy T

  13. King tides are terrifying. And like the first video says, they are a glimpse of what might come... that last bit makes them even scarier. Stay safe!

The coffee and jam look delicious! I love coffee. It's almost 6pm here, and now I am craving a cup.

  14. We don’t have wind like yours, but when it blows I find it peaceful hah, easy for me to say, right? Stay safe out there!

  15. I hope you are ok and safe, those tides look brutal! Your strawberry and apple jam looks delicious, I'd never come across this combination until I visited America 😁. Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x

  16. I hope your wind dies down soon. It's got to be scary, especially if you have any big trees around you. And those king tide videos are quite amazing. We get king tides here, but since the coast is sandier we don't get breakers like those in the second video. Wow. The water here just washes over the shore road and drains into the marshes on the back side, or any homes close to the water. Canning is the best, isn't it? I've never made strawberry-apple jam but it sure sounds good Nicole. Stay safe. Hugs-Erika

  17. Sounds very scary. I hope you are alright. I hate the noise of a storm. We get many storms and our house is built to resist storms but still the noise unnerves me and keeps me awake at night.
The footage of the waves is awesome. Thank you for the explanation of King tides. I think in England they are called 'spring tides'.
Your coffee and snack look inviting. I think I'll go and make myself a cuppa. (I only drink one coffee a day, which I tolerate). The jam sound delicious.
    Happy (belated) T-Day,
    Lisca

  18. I was by earlier, then got called away before I could leave a comment. I also had a ton of paperwork I was trying to get out yesterday, which sucked up my time. I was late getting my T post up yesterday and now I'm even later playing host. I'm sorry I'm late visiting.

I saw the report on the news and it is devastating. We get 50-60 mph winds in KS, too. I'm glad you are prepared and can stay home. Thanks for sharing these videos, your English muffin topped with your homemade jam, and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday (even though I'm a day late).

  20. Thank you for the videos on king tides. I had no idea this was an annual event now on the west coast. I've been through a hurricane on a small island, so I understand the devastation the ocean can cause.

Your homemade strawberry/apple jam looks scrumptious. Enjoy!

Happy T-day just the same. Stay safe. Eileen xx

  21. Wow! Some very impressive footage of waves and tides! Water is beautiful but also powerful. Beautiful to watch while having my cup of tea. I quit coffee because of health reasons, too. But, I probably drink too much tea, now! LOL Happy T Day!

  22. Wow, I can see why they are called King Tides. I hope you are warm, dry, and cozy with a cuppa, English muffin and your delicious jam. Take care. Happy T Day
