LAURA McCABE BOOK GIVEAWAY
This giveaway will remain on top so scroll down for new blog posts
Today begins 9 weeks of book reviews and giveaways, courtesy of Lark Books a division of Sterling Publication Co. Ink. I am so happy to be one of the book reviewers for Lark. If you read my blog you know that I have already given 4 books away. This fifth book will delight all of you.
If you like sparkle, shine, and shimmer then Laura McCabe’s latest hard bound book should be in your hands. Laura leaves nothing out in the 144 pages of “Embellished Beadweaving.” Her subtitle, jewelry lavished with fringe, fronds, lacework and more, is not an exaggeration. Laura takes you step by step in how to glamorize your beadwoven pieces using old time beading techniques with new style beads. 18 beautiful projects are expertly explained so that any level beader can accomplish them. Chapter 3, Basic Stitches and Techniques, is written in clear detail allowing the novice beader to start beading with confidence. For this segment alone the book is worth it. I also like Chapter 4, A Comprehensive Guide to Embellishments. The graphics and descriptions are outstanding. From here you will read about Laura’s approach to color and design. She gives wonderful ideas on how to collect shapes, colors and textures to lend to your own jewelry creations. The subtitle included the word “more” for me the “more” is Laura’s personal touch and expression that appears on every page. This book is all inspiring with straightforward directions, colorful, easy to follow illustrations, and photography that jumps off the pages. I highly recommend this instructional beading book to all bead enthusiasts. Don’t allow this book to escape you.
