Some Rizo Beads, and some Super Dous. Yeahhhh add a sheet of Nicole's BeadBacking  and there is a start of something really good.
All you have to do is leave a comment. If you want to share on your blog, FB or Tweet then come back and comment separately that you did for extra chances to win.

GOOGLE + COMMENTS SUCK

Hi Everyone!

How frustrated are you with Google?  I received a notice from them telling me about Google1 + commenting on my blog. That sounds great. I add Google1 + commenting...... and what a mess. First the comments don't show up as a count. Second unless I am just stupid there is no way to monitor the comments and third I have received many emails saying they couldn't comment because of the Google 1+ change I made. So I go in and change it back. uuuuurrrrgggggg I lost all my comments.
I understand Google wanting everyone to be connected to Google. However, NOT everyone is. For some reason I thought the Internet was a freedom of use. With Google, Yahoo, and IE wanting us to sign up and sign in it is really limiting what we can do on the internet.
Oookaaayyy that is my gripe for the day.

In my opinion

Sucks

MEET VERONICA Jonsson

Hi Everyone!

Veronica is this incredible bead artist who resides in Sweden. She is creative and a bit different in a very good way. OK so I love her "eye ball art" Everyone knows how I am enthralled by "eyes" LOL It is more than that thought.  There is an honesty with this young woman and I like her very much. So I am happy to introduce to you

Veronica Jonsson.

My name is Veronica Jonsson and the beads are my life together with my other passion, my pets.
I have been beading since 2003 and it was a long learning curve since I did it everything on my own. I was living in the middle of the forest and with no internet or classes available.
I started with bead weaving, I ordered a loom from a craft supply shop together with 2lbs of chinese seed beads.
Lets just say it was tricky to make the things look nice but after a while I found better beads...
Leaving the looming behind I was so impressed with the Japanese and Czech seed beads that the world opened up to me. I Started to go off loom and my designs, that only exists in my head most of the time, grew bigger and more advanced.

I am now a teacher in jewelry design. I teach my students the same way I learned, with imagination and freedom. I am glad to say that my students have a very high knowledge and passion for making jewelry designs on their own. They get passionate and innovative.
I, myself, know that I can learn even more, so I will never be fully learned, I might be going to the advanced part of the scale but I am humbled by the knowledge that is in the world, the possibilities are endless
I am currently a participant in The Battle of The Beadsmith. My piece is very intricate and made with my backing of choice Nicole's BeadBacking NBB. It is the only bead backing that could hold the design I am doing.
Through this battle I have met the best of the best in the beading community. I am one of the leaders in the beading team Beaders United, some of the best and sweetest people is a part of this team and I am proud to be a part of something so caring and loving.

Here are just a few of Veronica's beautiful pieces.
When Veronica finished this piece she sent me a convo with this photo and

"What I do with your beadbacking, the best product I have tried :)"
She made my day.

Don't you just love the feather eye lashes?!!!!

Please stop by to say hello to Veronica and tell her Nicole sent you.

TUTORIAL LAYERING YOUR FLATWORK OR BEAD EMBROIDERY

Hi Everyone!

I get a lot of email everyday from beaders asking for all kinds of assistance. I am happy to share my knowledge. The most asked question is,  "How do I layer my flatwork pieces?"  Well I have been doing this technique for over 20 years. I have had this technique published in several magazines and in my own book,  "FlatWork" I have kits that show the technique and I teach this in my beading classes. The process I use is so easy.
You can make your focal bead as tall as you like.
You will need a focal bead, seed and other types of beads, jewelry glue, basic beading supplies and Nicole's BeadBacking
Glue your focal to a piece of NBB. Flatwork or bead embroider the seed beads around the focal bead. Cut off the needle and thread,  then trim away the NBB close to the beading. If you are a beginner glue this beaded focal to another piece of NBB. Then tack stitch along side the seed beads. If you are a seasoned beader you do not have to glue the focal piece just tack it down.
Bead another row of seed beads around the focal. Cut the needle and thread then trim away NBB. Repeat the above step until you have the height you desire
Beading more rows gives a gradual layering. For a photo tutorial click here.
A very few samples of my layered flatwork.
This is Winter Ice published in Bead Design Studio July 2012
This photo is terrible but it is layered with crystal beads, Sterling Silver and carved white dicro glass.

A simple piece designed for  Artbeads.com using larger beads still maintains the layering
This is a layer and sculptural piece make with vintage Swarovski, Toho size 15/o seed beads. This piece was a gift to the Yamanaka family in Japan. Toho bead family.

This is a heavily layered and textured necklace. I sold it before I even had it finished. I like those kind of sale!!

The bracelet is a good showing of how the layers can really accentuate your focal bead.

This necklace I still wear today. The focal bead is  about 1 1/2 inches high and it is golden shinny

The is a great shot of how different size beads and my lacy flatwork can be used for this very easy layering technique.

I would love to see your layering pieces. Email me

SUPER DUOS ARE IN

Hi Everyone!

I will be in Eugene today but wanted to let you know there is still one day left on the bead sale in my Beadwright Etsy store..... annnndddddd Super Duo beads are in as well. If you have not used these two hole puff beads then this is a good time to get started. There are so many cool and creative things to make with them. From jewelry to multimedia pieces. The colors and finishes are amazing and... well can you tell I really like these beads? LOL

So what is the difference between Super Duos (SD) and Twins?
Here is brief explanation

The difference between Super Duos and Twins
They both are the same size but Super Duos (SD) are more précises in size and shape.
SD and Twins are both 5 mm long but SD have more glass mass to each beads again allowing a more even bead shape. SD are a bit more expensive, however it is a superior bead. The colors are slightly different than Twins as well.

The road is calling so I better get out the door.
Have a great day today Everyone!

HURRAY THE COME BACK NECKLACE IS FINISHED!!!

Hi Everyone!

For those of you who follow me, you know that the last few years have been pretty tough health wise. These last 3 months are no exception. While I was in bed waiting for surgery and what ever else the doctors wanted to do. LOL I bezeled  Rivoli crystals. Each one is different. What to do with 30 beaded Rivolis?? Make a come back necklace of course.  OK, so I only used 26 of the Rivolis sewed to Midnight Black Nicole's BeadBacking. In addition, two 1 ounce tubes of Toho black 11/o seed beads, an assortment of 3mm Swarovski bicons, a huge assortment of embellishment beads for the Rivolis. Shinny dicro colored yellow/green/gold leather for the back.
Hope you like it. It is shinny shinny shinny shinny and oh so elegant.

It's dark rainy and over cast here today so the lighting is awful.

The bad lighting doesn't pick up the shine of this leather

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY

Hi Everyone!

I  missed last weeks Paint Party Friday. Don't have a clue of what I was doing to miss out. But I am here this week. Thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting this great event. So many wonderful and diverse artist participate.  Be sure to stop by to say hello to Eva and Kristin and to visit the artist blogs. You won't be disappointed.
For me... I have been packing things away and that includes my art pieces. This is one that I did about 28 years ago. It is oil on canvas and has never been framed. This is actually a memory of a lonely tree that was outside of my house when I lived in CA. Hope you enjoy it.

SAY THANK YOU AND PLEASE

Hi Everyone!

It has been a strange week. LOL Even a bout in the ER yesterday. I am fine. Everyone, including me, thought I was having a heart attack. All is well and I am home. I am REALLY tired of all of this. LOL
Sooooo if you have been with my blog for awhile you know that I am a stickler for manners and politeness. It was something I was raised with. There were certain things expected of  you when you were a kid, please and thank  you was at the top of the list. This world we live in now has become lost to etiquette. Today I was so pleased that blogger gave me my reading list and that I was able to visit with Sharon from Plumrose Lane. She wrote a very nice post on manners and then created three beautiful thank you buttons for all of us to place on our blogs and websites. This is the one I choose. for my website. The colors are perfect.

I
PrL-Enchanted Thank You

There are two more to choose from and I will use this one for my blog
Be sure to visit Sharon

BEADING MONDAY

Hi Everyone!

Well I hope all of you were able to watch the finale of The Walking Dead and the premier of The Game of Thrones. First AMC couldn't possibly get one more commercial in that hour. You could see where the show was cut and edited so one more advertiser could get their two cents in. Ruins the whole show.
The Game of Thrones needs two hours for the premiers. Looking forward to what's coming up.

So it feels like one of those "blue Mondays" It is stormy, dark, and rainy after a sunny weekend. I will try to brighten my day with some beading.

This is a piece that I made for my grandmother in 2006. This is a pattern that my long time friend Sharon Bateman designed. The Morning Rose. I made half of it added some dangles then sewed it to a piece of my Nicole's BeadBacking (NBB) Added a bit of embroidery then framed it.
My Nan kept it by her bed.

Have a nice Monday Everyone!
